We are OK..... anyone trying to call us, phone service is off and on right now because all the circuits are overloaded and they are asking that we not use the phone if we have to. I was ok until I logged on to the forum and read Lisa's post (RuffnTuff) and then I lost it
: . It meant a lot to see friends around the country thinking of us and wanting to make sure we were OK.

It is hitting VERY close to home......my husband Bob is at the scene right now. He is a sports columnist and was in downtown Minneapolis at a news conference for the MN Timberwolves and covering the Kevin Garnett trade to Boston and he was asked to go over to the scene to help provide news coverage and I haven't been able to reach him for a couple of hours because all the cell phone circuits re jammed. He thinks he may be there all night and right now you can't get in or out of Minneapolis.
A mini friend of ours that many of you would know if I said who it was, was here at my house picking up a horse of hers that I had here and continuing on to WI and she went through that area right about the time it happened and I was frantic because I saw part of a white crew cab truck pulling a trailer partially crushed under a section and I kept calling her and her phone was going right to voice mail and I finally reached her and she was ok but was within a mile of it when it collapsed. There is a fun show tomorrow that we all were going to go to but right now I can't imagine, and beyond that, I think I would have had to cross that bridge to get to the show, which is north of the cities.
It is our foster son's birthday and he was going to the MN Twins game tonight and got to the Metrodome about 15 minutes before it happened. It took me a while to reach him to make sure he was OK.
I am just sick to my stomach and I am upset that my husband had to go down there to report on it. That is the downside of being in the news reporting business. We have a close friend that lives in New York that had to cover 9/11 and go to the scene when every other sane person was staying away.
Hopefully Bob will be able to check in sometime tonight and I will post an update from him.
EDIT TO ADD......I hope Adam (ALongman) or his mom has a chance to check in about it and let us all know he is OK. He is a Twin Cities Paramedic and I am sure was called to the scene to work and will be putting himself at risk.
