Doesnt he look dainty?? Actually we got 16 inches of snow and then a week later 4 inches of ice on top of it! We had a ball sledding but Bryson kept sliding on the ice, he couldnt get his footing!!

Why do they have those purple tongues?

Actually at this point we do not know......there are a handful of breeds with purple tongues chows, sharpei, and a couple rare and mostly unknown oriental/asian breeds. Now an interesting aside.........polar bears and a couple other arctic species (a certain fox and something else I can't remember) also have purple/blue tongues and mouth pigment. The assumption is that this evolved due to being polar and reduced problems with constant glare off of the snow........gotta find the article I read it was very interesting.

Thanks everyone, we think he is awful sweet!

Its funny when I started looking for another chow after our other died, I talked to 2 breeders in MO ( they seemed to be the only ones here) 1 breeder said she had only show quality chows for $1500 and the other had regular chows for $350, well we got the regular chow, since we werent going to show, just a family pet, and I think Bryson sure turned out beautiful, he looks like show dog beauty to us!! LOL

We are in love with him!!
