. Well, leave it to my carrier, they made the change to the wrong line :arg! . That threw it all off :arg! I opened my bill and it was $298

. They have now corrected the bill but check your bills every month guys. They will get you if they can.

I always check all my bills. AT&T is bad about letting charges come through and you have to call and complain. You can then block that merchant from charging anything else. That is their policy so if you REALLY want to charge something you don't run into a problem. I have also had resturants add a tip on a charge ticket where I didn't line through where you could add a tip if you wanted too. So I always compare charges on credit cards.

This was not a credit card bill. It was my cell phone bill that I go in and pay cash for. I am not and will not ever sign up for an automatic bill pay for anything. I made a change to my phone account and they more than doubled my bill because they got it wrong.

I feel you. I have had the same carrier for two years now and I have yet to get a bill that is correct. It seems like every month, I am in the office with all of my receipts, my credit card stateent, and the corrections made from the previous months' screw ups from them. Grrrr.....

Katiean, You brought up another subject....NEVER sign up for auto pay!

We are ALWAYS getting asked to sign up. NO WAY! Guess what? I had an auto pay arranged and then we closed the account with the company and they CONTINUED PULLING from our checking! It was for a service we were no longer receiving! (It was a credit card company which allowed people to charge to us, directly into our bank account -- prior to PayPal, back when I started doing E-Bay.) We canceled the service. HA. Talk about fraud and scam!

The bank said that we had to close the bank account to stop them. It was a pain because it was a business account, but that's what we did.

Sorry if I'm hijacking but that was a good point Katiean made.

Ma---

Sorry , I guess I confused the issue a little. The AT&T I was referring to is a land line. I also meant to check any and all credit card bills, Visa, Mastercard, Discover etc. I have caught charges I didn't authorize on the AT&T land line bill as well as my credit card bills. So far I haven't had a problem with my cell phone bill but I do monitor it every month just in case.
