Every year it's the same old thing. Hus gets stocked up on jeans and socks.

Dan has ended up with gift cards because everything I buy for him is wrong or not cool.

I always exchange with my best friend of 50+ years in Connecticut who has everything and needs nothing. She always sends the most unique stuff and I can never think of anything unusual.

This is borring!

I want to get them some unique gifts they will all love.

Let's have your great gift ideas for!

Gemstone parcels from jewelry television are a great gift. They have diffrent caret amount and prices so you can pick whatever one you want.

because i must concentrate on taking care of my ailing hubby, i have virtually no time to shop. even shopping online takes up too much time. here is what i am doing...

my boss is a quilter. i am using the appropriate photographs for each individual person (their pets, grandkids, etc.) and having photo transfers made. my boss will then take the fabric photo transfer and make a throw pillow out of it. i plan to give a couple to each person i am "buying" gifts for.

for everyone else, i am making a small donation in their name to the local animal shelter. my friends all know how passionate i am about animals, most of them are the same way, so a contribution to the shelter suits them just fine. it's the thought that counts!

I have given photos. Mostly old photos of friends and family, (depending on who I am giving them to,)that I enlarge at the local CVS. I get frames from the dollar store( I keep looking because lately there have been some really nice frames) Last year my sisters and brother got pics of my Mom ( passed away) No one had ever seen the pictures, so it was special, like getting to see here once again. It doesn't cost a lot, but they all loved them.

My husband wanted to read the book "Wicked"( like the play) but he mever has time, so I bought him the audio book to listen to as he is driving. He really liked that a lot! I think audio books are terrific!

Hugs,

Robin

Digital photo frames are sort of our "I-don't-know-what-else-to-get-them" sort of gifts. Anyone will enjoy it.

My grandmother doesn't have a digital camera or computer, so what we do is load an SD card up with recent pictures and put it in the frame for her. She just loves it... a bit of technology for someone that otherwise can barely work their TV.

Well you know what I'm doing...making jewelry for the ladies. Sharon is making me some coasters and mousepads and Sterling is making a few things for me. I was at the mall Tuesday...I bought a pretzel. Couldn't find a thing I liked for me or anyone else! I did get Aidan a scooter at toysRus.

I do gift baskets alot. I hit yard sales and try to find small cool things even if I have no idea what I will do with them. I usually end up using them in the gift baskets or FOR the basket. When my dad moved mack to Georgia after being gone for many, many years, I made a Welcome back to Georgia basket for him and his wife for Christmas. It had Coca Cola, peanuts, moon pies, UGA baseball cap, vidalia onions, locally made BBQ sauce, muscadine wine from a local winery, pecans, You know you're back in Georgia when... jokes throughout it, etc. I used a Coca Cola crate for the basket and roughly shredded Atlanta newspapers for filler. They seemed to love it and I had fun putting it together.

I have tons of ideas but if I typed them all, I would be on here forever! I would love to share so PM me if you would like!

This might work for you friend. Could find something that would bring back memories of when you were young?

I have two brothers that are hard to buy for. They would be happy with anything but really do not need anything. Their wife/girl friend do not have the same traditional holiday foods that we have. Neither brother normally spends Christmas with us.

I make them up a basket of "memories". Different foods and items that we would normally have at Christmas or through out the years. Pepparkakors cookies, bristlecakes, sprits, almond cake, pepparkakor bread, Lingonberries. I have even made and froze an oven pancake. Since they are around for Thanksgiving I can make every thing ahead freeze it and send it home with them. We have a great Swedish store near us so I can get them all sorts of goodies.

For Dan what about a hand held GPS, you can get one on line for under $100. Great for out in the woods four wheeling. Bet you hubby would love one too.

I dont buy gifts for anyone other then my kids anymore. It became trying to outdo the previous years gifts and giving people stuff they didnt really "need" anyway.

My family we dont exchange gifts just the kids ( my kids are lucky so far they are the only kids) but we do make something for eachother one thing each year to go in a "memory" box- either a picture or just a funny remember when story written down - something that one day will mean an awful lot more then whatever gift was given a few years back (at least in our family)

Question:

1. What is a digital frame

2. What is a GPS

What is your friend interested in?

My Dad is the way your friend is, has everything, needs nothing, but I found something really cool for him for his birthday in the form of a Lewis and Clark map that was framed for display/ends up being a work of art as well as collectible and educational, but my Dad loves History and loved the book Undaunted Courage about Lewis and Clark, so that fit the bill there.

For example, does she LOVE the Beatles? Perhaps some form of memorabilia can be just what you wanted. Something unique and beautiful that she will treasure maybe even something you share in common. Oftentimes something like that is more valuable for the memories it evokes than the money you could spend on something far more expensive.

A digital frame is a frame that displays digital photos. Often they will change like a slideshow, but I think you can get them to display one photo at a time, as well.

GPS is a global positioning satellite. Try googling them and you can find them just about everywhere, they do end up being very useful and he could even get into Geocaching.....www.geocaching.com

GPS = global positioning systems You want a model where you can enter in your location. For instance, you park your truck, mark your location on your GPS. Go off into the woods, either hunting, walking or on your 4 wheeler. When you are ready to head home you consult your GPS, it will show you how to get back to your truck. There are lots of different models and they do different things. I really do not know much about them.
