I did nothing drastic but i wanted to get a few horses clipped on and photographed today since it is officially March 1st

. Not really been doing anything drastic thus far, just leading and feeding....the real fun starts as soon as the roundpen drys up or thaws out as it seems to go back and forth between the two each day.

I clipped over the flanks so i could see them as they smooth out incase anyone is wondering why some are clipped on right there.

Erica's Ima Rowdy Twister - Cross Country Take My Breath Away son..as you can see i had trouble choosing a favorite pic of Twister..

I didn't get to clip on his head any so this is him with hair and all...was in the middle of clipping and got a call on the cell and totally didn't notice i did not even touch his head until i was just looking at pics. He's got such a tiny dainty head, just didn't get to clip on it.

STS Steel'n The Spotlight - Michigans Man Of Steel granddaughter, by Buckeye WCF Stainless Steel (he is in the AMHR Stallion Sweepstakes, btw)

Tiny little snot, refined as heck. You know how it goes.....30" on the outside....17hh on the inside, don't try telling her how tiny she is....you have no idea how much attitude is in this little thing.

Yearling Filly, under (way way under....), actually much smaller then she looks...

Apparently she wanted kisses...

Westwind BTU Crown Prince Stetson - BTU Grandson, Buck Echo G-Grandson, Crown Prince son..

Agian, really not done anything at all with him this winter....he's just in the barn to be in the barn, not planning to show him at the moment but he was there..so clipped on him too.

Leeana, do you do clips like that just to see where they are at weight wise, muscle, etc? Or because you're itching to see what's under the fuzz?

Just wondering, because it looks like it's about as warm where you are as it is here!!!!

A little of both really, i only do the horses that are in the barn, but i clip around the neck so i can get a sweat on them and then i clipped over the flank so i can see how they are smoothing out. So just a little of both really

That's what's so interesting about people's differences. I leave the hair ON so the sweats will work more with their natural hair adding heat!

It's still too flipping cold here in Michigan - below zero today and for the next few days. Yeah, welcome March . . .

I won't be clipping anything anywhere for weeks yet.

Been in the mid twentys here, going to be in the 20's-50's here looking at the forecast....seeing some 70's coming in about two weeks. I try to leave as much as possible early on...when it warms up more maybe near April or so i will clip over the hip & topline some more. When sweats go on, hair comes off here

I cant wait to get my new guy home so I can clip a little, only 11 days until he should be in the barn

Im hoping it gets warm enough here to fully clip soon, I don't wanna have to send hairy pics to amhr to get his transfer done.

Your crew are looking good, Id love to see twister when you have him fully clipped, id settle for seeing his pretty face though.

Leeana, I just love your horses!! They are all so nice. I sure wish we lived closer because I'd hire you to help me show my horses!
