Over the Easter holiday CMHR remained on the job removing several animals released into its care by a family facing the loss of their income and their home. The horses were fed, and had adequate shelter. The lack of income left them with neglected feet, most suffering the effects of founder. A number of them, due to the family situation were suffering for lack of special veterinary and farrier care.

CMHR took in some of the worst cases, while other area farms took home some of the less needy. They are all now getting the veterinary and farrier care they need.

This has become a nation wide problem! Many animal owners are holding on to their loved animals. Hoping for better times. CMHR has many similar cases in several other states.

Please be vigilant wherever you are. Offer to help without judgement when you can, and support rescue efforts through the CMHR auctions or through donations to CMHR and other rescue organizations.

If anyone has any empty stalls or fenced areas, please go to the CMHR website and fill out a foster application. You are very much needed!!

Please, these animals, and owners alike need your help! This will get much worse before it gets any better!
