Someone here thinks that the price of a Coggins test is astronomical. I think it's pretty much in line with other areas. Here in my area of PA it seems to run right at $30.00 plus farm call.

What does it cost where you come from? And where are you located?

Southwest Wyoming........$16.50

Here in Louisiana the horse has to have some type of identification(tattoo, brand, microchip) before they will even do a coggins. Microchip runs about $25.00, blood for coggins $20.00 to $25.00. That does not include the farm call fee.

[SIZE=10pt]I live in southwest Ohio and been paying about 20 for the test...and the farm call is 45. I try to combine coggins with something else so it will cut down on the farm call cost.

Also, if I need it quicker and have it faxed, it will cost a little more....usually about 5 more.

Here in Maine, I just paid 42.00 for the coggins and 65 dollars for the farm visit. I think I need to move to an area thats more reasonable!!!

It's $24 for a farm call, and $20 for the Coggins. He fills out the Health Cert. for free in these instances.

Here in Northern Ky our best vet left and his price for Coggins was $18. The vet we use now is $12 and I'm not quite sure in the farm call price. And they both do free health certificates.

It is $28 for the coggins and I take the horses to the vet. (Also draw all the pictures.) The one exception was when I had forty-two to do. Vet came for that and we had all the horses tied up and I had all the paperwork filled out in advance. He didn't charge for the call that time because it took only minutes we were so set up.

Here in my neck of the woods (Western WA) we pay aroud $42 for the Coggins...not including the farm call. To get all the paperwork to ship a horse (coggins/health cert/brand inspection)...it costs us around $120 if we take them into the vet's office...$185 if the vet comes to us

Here in NOrthern Michigan, last year it was $25 each for the Coggins test, and $45 for farm call..hopefully it won't go up this year as I will have two done. Shammy will arrive in April already done for this year. I will probable just go ahead and get shots updated too instead of doing it myself this year. Consolodate:)

It's weird here. One vet charges $18 for Coggins and maybe $13 for a health certificate....but the vet we would normally usually use (for emergencies - and she's VERY GOOD) charges $25 for coggins and $30-$35 for a health certificate. Same exact town, I have no idea what the major deal is, they even send the blood to the same lab...

Here in northern mississippi, I paid $24 for the coggins and $35 for the farm visit this last time. My vet has gone up a $1 each year for the past 5 years. I only pull coggins on the horses we show and what is being sold, but still adds up.

I USE A FARM VET FOR COGGINS CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT, IN AUGUST FOR HIM TO COME TO OUR PLACE FOR 1 HORSE TO DO A COGGINS AND HEALTH CERTIFICATE IT WAS $75. JUST HAD HIM BACK FOR 1 COGGINS AND 2 HEALTH CERTIFICATES AND WAS THE SAME PRICE. $75. THEY NEVER CHARGE TO FAX TO ME IF I DON'T RECEIVE THEM THROUGH THE MAIL IN TIME.

Lisa, Here in York, Pa. It is $28.00 Plus $50.00 farm call.
