Color help

Ok so need some help with the color of my 09 filly. I thought she was a smokey black like her sire but shes starting to lighten up and get brown around her nose and eyes. Could she be a smutty buckskin or maybe a black bay? We have a black bay arabian and thats what he looks like. Her dam is a buckskin and her sire is a smokey black.

Here is a picture I took with my phone the other day. You can see how light she is getting around her eyes. It wasnt that much before.

here is what the hair around her eyes looked like before.. about a month or so ago

it also looks like her legs may be darker then the rest of her body.

Also what do you think of her? We are practicing halter with her. Shes starting to get the idea but she likes to over stretch.

She looks black bay to me. I have a smiular colored mare but this year she looked totally black. She is now 4. I have been told that she could be a smutty buckskin. Her sire is Buckskin and her dam is a silver dapple. She is a BTU grand daughter and looks black. I guess the only way to tell is to have her tested.

She looks dark bay to me...

:wub very pretty and yes she does like to stretch out a bit doesn't she!!! You might try pushing back her nose slightly while she has your attention so she doesn't have to stretch so far to reach for your hand.

I have a mare that looks like that, she has the light hair around the eyes and on her muzzle, she is a seal brown with a dilute gene. She has produced sooty buckskins.
