I am wanting to purchase a program to make neat collages of horse pictures, or to remove or change backrounds...Can anyone help me with what programs are out there that I can buy to do this??

I remember there was a program to do the silhouettes also, and I can't remember what it was....If anyone can help I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

I use Microsoft Picture It for a lot of things but I still can't get the idea of how to remove the backgrounds. When I cut out, it looks so phoney.

If anyone cares to volunteer I sure could use help in that department too.

I use Adobe Photshop. I have the CS version and love, but I think some of the less expensive versions of it work well also.

Adobe Photoshop is THE software for working with photos.

it was the first, and still is the industry standard. Professionals will use nothing else. It is more expensive, although the limited version can be had for less, and it does have a bit of a learning curve, but the results are worth it.

Another plus: Photoshop comes bundled with ImageReady, which allows you to optimize photos for the web, crunching 600+K photos down to 20K without a noticable difference (on-screen, anyway).

The other programs are merely poor imitations.

I have to disagree with you on that point. Although others may not do as much, for the amatur home user they work quite well, and you don't have to mortage your house to get them. Digital Image Pro, Arcsoft Digital Image, Photo Image, Infraview (free with many add-ons) are fine for the home user and somewhat easy to learn. I totaly agree if you are a "Professional" making a living on it Adobe is the way to go. That's just my opinion.

Microsoft Picture it Publishing Plantinum... Takes some practice, but after you get used to it, I wouldn't use anything else!

I have Photoshop Elements 2. It's pretty basic, but can do much more than the old program I had before my computer crashed and I had to get new programs.

I'm still figuring it out, but it can pretty much everything I need a photo program to do.

Ok, I just got home from Wal-Mart, wasn't sure what to buy, so I bought Microsoft Digital Image 2006 Suite.

I hope it works & does what I want....I looked for the others described, but they didn't have them.

I'll let you know what I think!LOL

Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can get the Microsoft Picture It Publishing Premium??

I looked at Wal-mart and on Amazon.com and can't find it, or it is not available.

I am not sure the program I got yesterday is really what I was looking for. So any help on finding this program would be appreciated!

Thanks...
