Confused on which DNA test for AMHA parents

Hi all,

I was reading on the AMHA site about doing DNA testing before a colt can be registered with a first time parent. It lists 2 tests on the site and I am confused on which one to order.

I believe what you are talking about is the blood test vsr the hair strand test. I have never done the blood DNA test, it is very easy to collect 50 hair strands with roots attached from the horse's mane. You send in a request to AMHA and they will send you the collection kit which you use to send the samples into The Laboratory.
