Glad to hear other people agree with my opinions on the 2 stallions. I too like the first one better, mostly for his better balance. I don't always agree with judges so I don't put too much stock in a World orf National title, unless there is some consistency involved, e.g. Multiple titles, Honor Roll, HOF, etc. Or if I like the horse.

The one thing I do like better on the new stallion is the relatively longer legs, which is because the upper part of the leg (forearm, gaskin) is longer. I want my minis to look "leggy" and I also want the "hocks close to the ground" like a lot of performance people (big horses) like. This means that I want the upper leg to be longer than the lower leg (cannon bone). Yes, this will affect movement and athletic ability too.

Both stallions have pros and cons. How old is the buckskin pinto in those photos?

Based upon the second set of photos on your first stallion, i would have to say I like your second stallion better. He seems to have a better head and neck, but has a weaker rear and is longer in the back then your first stallion. He has more length of leg where the first stallion is short on leg. I agree with disney horse, a top 5 could have been a top 10 in youth. Jumping, obstacle, who knows. Also, he could have had a handler show him, which might have gotten him the top 10.

The buckskins pictures where taken a few days ago he's 3 years old. My palomino is 11 years old.

They are both nice! Enjoy them and you will eventually decide for yourself who you like best for which mares and go from there. As others have said, consistency is what prevails with a show record. We all have to be careful when we are looking for horses and see "World Top XX" ect. As another pointed out, could be ammy, youth or futurity which is not the same as open. All are great accomplishments, just differ from each other as to the competition.

I don't know your boy, so not commenting on him specifically, but all buyers should always check show records themselves by calling the registry. That includes comfirming how many were in the class and specifically what class was it.

ETA: One more comment, and again not specifically about your boy, just a lesson for all buyers...if the title was as a junior horse, a horse of that age can mature drastically different from how they start out. So as Mary said, back to consistency, if the horse wins a WC title as a yearling, but also goes back and does it as a senior horse, that would carry much more weight for me.

Both stallions have their strong points and their weaknesses. The 2nd pics of the first stallion you posted I really feel like he is built downhill. His neck could be cleaner. His head is about average, but not bad, if you show him in halter I would for sure use a bar nose, the thin cable halters makes his head look bigger then what his head really is and just can't pull the cable halters off.

The 2nd stallion his front end is nicer then your first, nice clean long neck, nice chest, topline looks good, nice long legs, his hind end isn't as good as the 1st stallion, I would say his head is larger and not as attractive as I would like.

I agree enjoy them both I think they are pretty nice.
