Wow, it seems odd to hear that horses are having trouble in temps around 100- we typically soar way above that and had 118 a couple of times already this summer. Normally our average is 108 to 110 during the summer. My horses are out in it, running and playing like it is 80!!
It must be the humidity factor increasing your heat?? We have extremely low humidity here- sometimes 8% and really whine if it is over 25%. (it gets high if it's raining of course, but doesnt last)
I find it also odd that we have set more record highs this year.... and then it dropped from the 118 to the mid and upper 90's- pretty much unheard of here in the summer, while the rest of the nation is having deaths from the heat!!
