How did the knee surgery go? I've been thinking of you.

Hi Marsha
Will be 2 weeks out from surgery tomorrow. Had a really rough day last Sunday and Monday--guess trying to do too much too soon but when you have stock to take care of and you don't want to take advantage of good neighbors for "forever" you start trying to do things for yourself.
The uneven ground is really hard to deal with so am having to try and be a little more careful about that.
Knee still has a lot of swelling but nurse says that is not unusual since it has only been 2 weeks. I came back to work Monday. Go back to see Dr Jordan on the 16th for my 3 week followup and will see then when he wants to do the other knee--He was suggesting the first of July, won't be 8 weeks thill the 21st of July. Told him we needed to wait until the left knee was back to some similance of "Normal" before we did the other one--Need at least one good leg to stand on
Not sure if he is going to do any physical therapy as the knee is still very stiff but guess he will tell me on the 16th. In fact sitting here at work with the TENS unit hooked up massaging the knee as I type. Love my TENS unit.
Was going to try and get at least one horse qualifed for Nationals and go to this month's show in Ada but will just have to see how things go. If I can't make it this year will be the first time in 10 years that I have not gone to Nationals. Hoping to feel good enough for the long trip to Iowa for Congress as Illusion will be showing and I'd love to see him.
I hate being down but after 2 years of fighting with the pain I'll do it.

Davie, Glad to see that you replied Was getting worried not hearing anything. Hope you knee is back to normal soon!

Davie, Was it just knee surgery (sorry to put it that way) or a knee replacement?

Arthroscopic knee surgery. Knee scope, meneci repair and debredment of some bone spurs, a cyst and other stuff. Did the left first and in a few weeks will go back and do the right one. Result of a fall I took at work almost two years ago.

It took over a year to get my rotator cuff fixed with an on the job injury. Don't they move fast?

WC was not the problem--have been very good. It was the **** first orthopedic I was refered to after the stupid original doctor. First Ortho messed around for a year--gave me unnecessary shots and wanted to replace my knee but with my private insurance not WC (wonder why, more $$$ maybe
).
