We got the news yesterday but have been trying to research what Alana was diagnosed with. It's called Interstitial Lung Disease. It seems this is a combination of different things that effect the lungs. The one

thing we know is that without a lung transplant Alana has a very very poor prognosis. She has one more test on the 10th of Jan and after that she will be put on the lung transplant list.

Our son and his wife already have a buyer for their house on the island. They are now putting the resturant up for sale and are going to liquidate the quilt shop.

I'm praying this precious child has a chance to grow up, drive us all crazy with teenage antics, and do the

the weird things teenagers do.

Prayers are really needed at this time.

How awful! I'm so sorry to hear that.

I'm a nurse and that diagnosis is new to me(actually sounds pretty broad). I hope they can narrow it down and that her prognosis isn't as grim as it sounds. What a life changing event for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with Alana and her family.

Gini, I am praying as hard as I can for your little Alana. She looks so full of life. I know she will give it everything she's got.

(((((HUGS))))) and love to your family.

My thoughts are with you in this time of extreme worry.

There is nothing right with having a sick child.

I will pray for her to have a healthy and full life.

I know science has progressed greatly since I was

a sick child, with lung disease.... My parents had lots

to deal with, with me. The doctors said I'd would not

live to see 16 but I have proved them wrong many times

over.....I'm not 100% healthy but am living a full life.

Please take hope from that - doctors have to consider

the inner strength and will of the child they are dealing with.

My prayers for Alana are laced with a good amount of wishes

for a strong will........

God knows I could not live without my grandson.

Oh Gini, I am SO sorry! But at the same time it's good to have a diagnosis because without it she couldn't get on the list, right?

Hopefully she'll be at the top right away and it will be very soon for her to get the transplant.

One of our friends went through a heart transplant 4 yrs ago and it's been a good thing..tooka while but he is doing well, gained strangth, and is so grateful.

So I pray and pray for her to get a lung quickly..will hope to hear that soon.

Oh Gini, my light and prayers continue for this special little darling.

Gini so sorry to hear the diagnosis but without it she wouldn't be able to get on the list, continued prayers coming for Alana so she can get the lung she needs. She is such a delightful looking child, so full of life in her picture, praying that she will be strong enough to get through this and get to enjoy growing up with her family. Also prayers and hugs coming for you and her family. God Bless

Yvonne
