Diaper Shower

What exactly does one take to a Diaper Shower? Literally, diapers?? What size? Brand? A gift certificate?? The invitation had no return contact number so it's hard to ask questions.

It was humorous that the invitation had diaper pins and old-fashioned rattle images on it. What modern mother/baby has ever seen such things??!

I did see fabric swatches for the crib. Such lovely choices now! No more stereotyped baby stuff, but pretty birds and patterns.

I diaper shower is usually given to somebody who already has kids. Is that the case? Typically here anyway, what the diaper shower is that you bring a box of diapers, which usually results in a raffle of some sort. The ones I have gone to most people also brought and additional give but not all did. As for brand and size its open. Usually a wide variety of brands is nice as each baby is different. I would always do it based on gender. I love pampers swaddlers. However, boys seem to do best from what I have heard from many, in Huggies. I also am a huge fan of Luvs once the baby is out of the pampers that have the belly button cut out. Size, I normally never do new born. 1-2 are what I stick with. I tend to make diaper cakes for showers, depending on cake size I will sometimes do size 3.

Shower was today. I took your advice and got Luvs. She got hundreds. No diaper cake, though. She said she had received one in the past and undoing all the diapers was too much trouble. Glad I did not try to make one. Thanks for the advice.
