Does anyone bring their horses in on Halloween?. I am going to bring my horses up to the house and in from their pens and put them right in the backyard. I don't want some sicko getting ahold of my babies. With the things I have seen on here and on the news. I am not taking any chances tonight.

My horses are never convenient to the passers by but if they were I'd sure be moving them to safer digs for tonight. Halloween and a Friday. The police I've talked to all say its the worst when Halloween falls on a Friday or a Saturday.

Mine are hard to get to without my knowledge. Have a big noisy dog that doesn't like strangers on our lane. Also have lots of neighbors that are always watching out for the unusual. If there were danger to my babies, I think I would be standing guard with a shotgun. I know hubby would, so we could take turns.

The problem with my horses pen backs to a road. I hate it because people come up to the fence and feed them. I would hate for them to eat broken glass or a rasor blade.

Well, I think you are wise to bring them close to the house because there are so many wackos out.

Mine will be in the barn at dark tonight so no worries.

I brought mine in early and put them to bed. They're barned every night, but I decided to do it a little early. Didn't want ANY temptation out there as I'm RIGHT on the road and someone could walk right up to the fence to them and I wouldn't see them. So my babies are nice and safe. I hope everyones remains safe, TJ

My horses are in place well off the road, but since they are 2 miles away from my house (I lease), I will be bringing them earlier today to, as others have said, avoid temptation

we are on a very quiet dirt road we don't even get any trick or treaters

in the 11 years we have been here. Only 1 neighbor down the road

So no one comes back here

But our horses are in their stalls with the barn closed up every night

I really like my electric fence and nasty nasty dog on nights like tonight.

Mine are all out. This is a quiet neighborhood; there haven't even been any trick or treaters out tonight (two or 3 carloads of kids would be a busy year in this neighborhood--most of the area children go into town instead of go around out here). The one pasture backs up to the back road but I don't think the boys in that pasture would let strangers up to them out there in the dark--they would come racing for the barnyard.

The last place I'd put my horses on halloween is in the barn; if we were to have any pranksters come around out here I'm afraid that the most likely 'prank' would be arson. (We have a lot of arson fires in town)--and I will not have horses shut in the barn to be burned if some sicko from town decides to come out here & pick my barn to set on fire!

Ditto on this one..We have been here 7 years this Dec. way out in the country, no treaters here either. All 13 horses go into their stalls inside a locked up tight barn every night! No exception..

Well i was not worried until you said something...

I wish i could bring everybody in, but just not possible. Everyone is in except for the broodmares and a few colts over in that pasture but that is pretty near to our house actually so i dont think anyone will mess with them, think i'll leave the back and front porch light on though. I really need to go get a outside barn dog...my shih tzu who stays inside would let a robber walk right into the house and give him a kiss on the way out
