How do they work? do your cats like them? they are kinda pricey but I am thinking perhaps they are really worth it?

I was really excited when I got mine but soon had to return it. The mechanism bar got stuck even though I used the best litter it tended to jam periodically until it quit working altogether.

I know others who have had great luck with them but I didn't.

I did like the look of them but, with my luck, they would eat the cat!!

Mistyrose has a couple of them and they appear to work great. My only objection to them is the clumping litter that is used. Our dogs just love those sh*t biscuits and clumping litter can kill a dog. That said, her dogs appear to leave them alone. Ours would not.

I would think it would scare the cat so much the cat wouldn't want to use it!

Ok i got one cause it was on sale and pretty cheap... set it up of course the litter is different as we were using woody pet kinda stuff it says it doenst start cleaning till the cat is out for 10 min so we will see if they totally rebel or not

That is the only room that has a baby gate on it so the dogs cant get in-

I will let you know how it works

It doesn't Move Until the cat is completely Out of the thing.. No way would it get a cat and start to rake , and no way would it move with a cat still in the box.. It works OK. I have seen it at friends homes...

So no it should not scare the animal..

Does anyone use those automatic, cleaning kitty litter boxes?

I would but thinking how to get the horse to strattle it and get the poop in the box.

Oh just kidding. I don't have any inside cats so I haven't a clue as to how they would like it... I'm just being silly!!!!

Thanks for the laugh!!! Needed that! It's been a LONG day!

We had one years ago when we had cats in the house. We had 4 cats and it kept up with them pretty good. But with 4, I had to empty out the container pretty much daily. They didn't mind it. We had the same problem with dogs liking to eat the "goodies", so we were able to gate off our laundry area so that the dogs couldn't get to it in there.

Mom has 3 cats and has one automatic kitty litter boxes. They love it and empty the little tray daily. I think theirs waits 5 mins before it rakes the clumps out. When I cat-sitted my mom's cats, my dog left it alone.

We've had one for a year now one of my buddies gave it to us as a present. The basset pretty much leaves it alone because every thing is in a little covered tray. That's been a big plus here.

We have one and just gave one to my SO's mother and we both Love them!!

They do really well as long as you have the premium litter in them. I have one cat and I have to empty it about once a week or so.

Triggy, I have found if you fill them to much above the line, the litter gets stuck behind the tines in the spot where it go and lives when it's not cleaning stuff up.

When ever that happens I have to go scoop litter out of the box till it's happy again.

I never filled it above the line, used the best approved litter too, so we must have gotten one that was defective. I love automation and it seemed like a good idea but I wasn't impressed with it enough to get another when I returned it. Back to using the poop scooper for me
