i know this is off topic but i would also bet the farm that most, if not all, of the members here are as passionate about their dogs as they are about their horses. i'm just curious as to what breeds of dogs you guys have.

we have 2 pembroke welsh corgis. they are therapy dogs and both have obedience training as well as herding certificates. their herding ability came in handy when we had goats! i have also done some agility with both of them, the most fun thing EVER.

so, who has what?

Harvey and I have four shih-tzu's (Winston, Willow, Whitney & Webster). We also have a blue merle rough (long coat) collie named Kelsey and a red lab x chow cross named Maggie. As much as I love our horses, I love our dogs even more... after all, they sleep in the house and even on the bed so they're really my "best friends".

You can see our doggies here: Harvey & Jill's Dogs

We have 7 dogs right now! It is our recent low ! My first and only dog that I bought from a pet store is my chihuahua Peanut. She is my dream dog

: She is 10.

Then we have 1 lab/bulldog/great dane mix, whe we rescued and nursed back to health as a pup. He is so sweet, he eats and sleeps with our goat Lily.

Then a shepherd mix female who was left with 6 litter mates at the end of our drive way. She is the protector of the house.

Then a medium size dog Cookie, who is very shy, had to have been SEVERLY abused, she was left in my sisters garage.

Then a silky terrier who someone was going to toss away, because he eats EVERYTHING! He can eat those rubber boot scraping mats, towles, rugs, clothes, kids toys, hard plastic doggy teathing things, anything and everything, he eats it. :new_shocked: He was not fixed when we got him and he and my Chi got very close just once when we first got him and they made Honey , our last dog.

We also have 3 rescue outside cats, 1 three legged indoor cat, and a 1 week old bottle kitty my husband found under a deck at work.

P.S.everyone is now "fixed"

I think you are very correct..... we love our mini's and love our dogs, too!! (I think it all goes together -- hand-in-hand.) At our farm the dogs and horses are equally important to us.

To say we are passionate about our dogs is an understatement :bgrin

We currently have 5 dogs. (The most we had at one time is 8) As have been all of our dogs for the past 20 years, they are rescue and stray dogs. Currently we have a: Yellow Lab mix, Black Lab mix, Boxer mix, Weimaraner, and Dalmatian. (In April of this year our 18 year old German Short-Haired Pointer died in his sleep.)

This is a recent pic of our Boxer mix, Rudi, playing with our 2 yr Colt, Blaze.

edited to spell "weimaraner" (LOL)

We love our dogs as well. We have six dogs at this time. We have two boxers, two jack russells mixes, america eskimo, boston terrier. All of our dogs love the horses.

I have a wonderful little girl named MARTHA MILLSTONE. She's a Jack Russell Terrier. Like Tomas, she also models and has walked the runway for Target during fashion week and graced a few hundred billboards and building wraps in NY City.

Here are 2 photos of her...

Neat thread! We have a german shepherd/collie cross named Tucker and for my birthday last year I got a harlequin Great Dane named Fargo. He is our second dane. Our favourite breed and there will be many more in the future.

I also love my dogs more then any other animal - I could not ever imagine not having them in my life.

We have 3 German Shepherds Keisha(13) Khyzer(10) Tristan(4) a sheltie Mya(3) and a precious little mutsy dog named Samantha - she was a rescue and came just minutes from being euthanized.

They are (of course) all house dogs!! So imagine those 3 HUGE German Shepherds in your house, they take up lots of room and my house is always full of dog hair - but I wouldn't have it any other way!!

get out!! GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT!!! i would give my right arm and my left leg for just ONE HARLEQUIN DANE!!! they have always ALWAYS been my not-so-secret passion and some day before i die, i will have one!

let's see if i can remember how to post a pic...our black tri, maggie and our red/white, simon. they are wearing their nursing home bandanas. when the banadanas go on, they dance at the door. they LOVE going to visit the residents. i dunno if it's because they know they are so cute or because they know they are going on "treat overload".

Yup, love the horses but the dogs will prevail with us too. We have seven at the moment but one is going away today due to my health.

I have three labs, two goldens and a pomeranian that is my youngest daughters. I also have a german shepherd that will be going back to teh breeder today because she is too strong for me to train with my health the way it is so the breeder will take her back for me. This wonderfu l dog deserves more than I can give her in my present condition.

One of our labs is a 19 week old yellow (buff) male that we will breed our black female and our white coated yellow female to.

Forgot to put the kids names in, silly me!

So edited to add names,

2yr old black lab, Sadie

5yr old Golden, Ruby (my baby!)

18mo old White coated yellow lab, Kharma

13yr old Golden Rescue, Molly

3yr old Orange sable, Pomeranian, Muffin

18mo old German Shepherd, Ahnya

And the new kid on the block,

18 week old Yellow lab (buff in color) Gauge. we run a shooting supply business and he is the mascot so Gauge was the name that fit the position! LOL

I have big dogs and little horses. Currently, I have six dogs: 2 harelquin Great Danes, 2 Labs, and 2 Anatolian Shepards (ok, one's mixed with Great Pyr but its easier to just say 2-2-2). All but one of the labs came from a rescue or animal control.

Charlene, when you're ready to get that Dane, search petfinder.com and you may find just what you want waiting at a rescue. I know I have.

Oh yes, our dogs are our best friends and share the bed with us: (4) Havanese: Daisy, Dixie, Annie & Kira and (1) Boxer: Katie, (1) Pyrnese: Balto; we recently lost our old Pyr: Toby and old Dalmation: Topper to cancer, they are much missed.

Dont know what we would do without our dogs.

We have two Cane Corsos, Ben and Bella, one toy poodle, Sassy (getting old now), Brandy our long haired chi, and Lilly, our chi/ toy poodle mix. Lilly's father was a toy poodle King, and we lost him last winter. He and the Chi Brandy did not practice planned parenthood! They were both neutered after Lilly!

Our family includes:

Luna, a Karelian Bear Dog

Randy, a Golden Retriever

Shed, a Golden Lab mix

Tucker, a Bernese Mountain Dog

Our dogs are our "daughters"!

I have my Fia, a schipperke, the brittany (outside dog) and today got a new 6 mo old baby...chihuahua! Oh how I have loved and wished for this wee girl since she was born. They had another litter and she would always be too small to breed and her big dog was kind of a bully so with a pretty ribbon she is mine!

the britt, 3 yrs old
