to my neighbors to wear a helmut when they ride.
But...........did they listen nope.
Was coming home yesterday and came upon my neighbor walking with one of her dogs. Normally I would just slow down and wave.
ut for some reason I stopped and said are you okay?
She turned and looked at me and Oh my God, her face was covered in blood and she said I don't know.....
I of course was calm and started yelling oh my God get in the car! get in the car! She said I don't think I can...
Got her and the dog in the car loaded down with groceries. And headed around the corner to her house.I said what happened? She said her new horse thru her and kicked her in the chest. Now we're at her house next to mine, with her gate closed and her other 5 ugly dogs at the gate barking their heads off and jumping and growling.
Her horse is running around stepping on the reins and getting legs entangled ,you can imagine.
Okay I don't know whether to try to get the horse first or get her into the house and calling 911, of course a normal person it would be the person but well I am not normal.
I said should I try to get the horse? As he's only now about 6 feet from the car. SHe said I am having trouble breathing, oh crap, I am half out of the car, I get back in and put it in gear, now she is getting out of the car saying I think he will come to me and he did.
Now what do we do? I now have the horse and tell her get in the car only God knows what I am going to do I can't open the gate with the gestapo there.
She says take horse up thru the pasture with the llamas and the sheep and put it in the stall and just pull bridle off.
Oh boy here I go with the guard llamas and one horse up half a darn mountain sweating bullets and wondering if she is dying while I am doing this.
I get thru all the gates and up to the barn. I just could not turn that horse in the stall with the expensive saddle still on, so unsaddled him and realized I hadn't unsaddled a horse in about 30 years.
Lots of new straps and rigging I hadn't seen before and all the time thinking is she still breathing in the car.
I got him in the stall naked. and went huffing up to the house in the meantime she had walked up to the house with the dogs. I don't know how.
But now they are at the gate to the house from the barn.
I can't see her, everything in me is saying DON'T open that gate with those dogs there, but I am calling her and no answer. I picture her on the ground not breathing and it's my fault.
I start to open the gate and she appears and says Bonnie don't open that gate with that blue eyed dog there.
OKAY with me.
She had managed to get the dogs inside and called our other neighbor who is the neighborhood nurse.
Boy was I glad to see her.
Anyway she has a busted up arm and her shoulder torn all to heck after having it operated on last year, broken ribs back injuries etc.
Please wear a helmut and a vest would be great. I feel so bad for her.
Listen to your mom.............
