I am looking into getting a pair of Double K's. I was considering the Belt option because I will be using them in different places.... I am curious if anyone else has the the belt one, and if they like it....? Is it really heavy or awkward or annoying? I also noticed there was a slight price difference from it and the wall mount and I was wondering if anyone knew what that was about, since they are the same clipper.

Hi Matt, I have the belt one, I hang it on the rail or the gate I have never used it on my belt, Don't know why the price difference, but maybe it's cause the wall mount takes a bracket.

I like the belt because I don't have a special place to clip so it's easier just to hang it.

Hope that helps.

Hi Matt,

I have the belt double K,I wear it when I clip the minis it doesn't bother me at all.

I'm not sure what the kind i have is called? It has a plastic chain and I clip it to a stall gate or post.

I have the wall mount, but with the chain that comes on them, I simply hang them up wherever I go.

The wall mount doesn't have to be permanent. I do like Becky, and just use the chain to hang it wherever I need it. I take it shows, inside my house, down to my barn, etc. I wouldn't want it actually attached to my wall.

I just got my Double K's last week and I ordered the 401 portable, not the belt mount. It has the chain and the clip and I can move it and hang it over each stall. So far I really like them. I just wish I had gotten a shorter cord. I got the 20ft. thinking I would need it and its too much. I will soon be ordering a second shorter cord.

We ahve 3 sets of them -- 2 wall mopunts & a belt one -- we ahng all of them on a gate or fence-- one of them we ahve mounted on a plywood board witha hole to hang the chain through -- just makes it sturdier to take to shows etc.

I would think the differnce in the price might just be the cable length? -- Our first set had the 20 ft -- and we really liked it -- gave you lots of room to manoever. Then we got the belt one which had a 6 ft cord -- handy in tight places-- the last one has a 12 foot cord & it is the one we both like the best.

You will love them for sure.

We almost got the belt one but then at the last minute decided on the wall mount with the long cord and hang it anywhere we want to clip inside or out without the bracket it came with....l like being as far away from the motor as possible we really like the Double K's they do a real fast body clip in half the time compared to our other clippers..

I bought the belt one so I would have many possiblities of use. I thought I might take it to shows but find that I try to do most of the clipping at home and only take the smaller ones to shows for "touch ups". I have the belt from a pipe mounted above my grooming area so that I can easily slide it back and forth. It keeps the cable on the same side of the horse as I am so it doesn't lay on the horse as it viberates.

Thanks for sharing that!

I have the wall mount but just hang it wherever I happen to be clipping. For that reason I like the longer cable, though it does get in the way sometimes. I just wouldn't want to carry the clippers on me, my back hurts bad enough when I clip as it is!

I have the wall mounted ones too but I just attach the chain it comes with to a longer chain hanging from the rafters of my barn at my grooming station. They can be easily taken down if I want to use them somewhere else. I love my Double K's.

I have the belt mounted ones and I love them. They are one of the best purchases we have made! (And believe me, I think we bought every kind of clipper out there.)

My husband thought they may be a little heavy and pull me down, as I hardly weigh anything, but they are just fine!

Good luck with them!

I was also thinking of buying new clippers. What is the price for Double Ks and How much are a set of blades? Can anyone recommend who to purchase from? Do you deal directly with the company themselves?

Thank you

Lisa

I also prefer the 12' cord wall mounted ones. I have 2 sets and love them! Of course I also love my Laube Lazors!
