In my comparative civilizations class for the final project (that I believe is worth 40% of our final grade) I am doing my essay and presentation on driving(horses I mean!). For part of my presentation I need some pictures for the poster board, I already have some but thought it would be neat if you have any to share?

So if you're willing to share them with me and have any good, clear pictures of driving horses or ponies, or even pictures of different types of vehicles lets see them!

If you do post a picture please include the name of the vehicle you're driving, name of the horse/pony and the name of the whoevers picture it is so I'm not just plastering on "copied" random pictures.

Thanks a bunch in advance. I've got to run but I'll get back to this later today.

YOU CAN PRINT THIS ONE OUT IF IT IS NOT TO DARK.

THIS IS FANCY AND JASIMINE. OUR NAMES ARE SANDY AND JIM SATTERFIELD.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

Well, it sounds like you should have mostly horse driving--ie: big horses and vehicles....more traditional. So what I would do is either go online and look at some World Championships(Driving, not mini) pictures and track down the owner of that horse/photo. You would be representing the 'cream of the crop' so to speak.

But I will add my contribution in anyway! Oh, if you go to the CD-L(carriage driving list) www.carriagedriving.net, you can ask for pictures on the list--people would be more than willing, I would think!

None of my tandem show pictures turned out well enough to be printed (or I haven't gotten them), so this is a practice time. The turnout is a tandem, the horses are Fascination(front, or Leader), and Elvis(back or Wheeler), and the whip(driver) is me, Breanna Sheahan. The carriage is a mini-sized Meadowbrook. Note that this turnout actually does require a groom for safety purposes(but the groom is taking pictures!).

This is a single horse put to a Pacific Dartmoor marathon carriage, in Dressage. The horse is Ref, a 14.2 hh Paint X, the whip is Breanna Sheahan. Proper dress for this show was rain gear, because of the pouring rain.

Single miniature horse, put to a Jerald A with wooden wheels, in Dressage. The horse is Fascination, whip is me.

Single mini, put to a customized marathon roadster, in Marathon. The horse is Fascination, the whip is me.

I have the full res of all of these pictures off line...if they need to be bigger, I can send them to you! Let me know!

Oh, and I have these photos that I collected a long time ago--I don't remember where I got them from, but they are pretty cool. I don't know if you can use them, but they are very old pictures.

This is a pair of coach horses, put to? I don't know the vehicle name, but some sort of brougham?

This is a four in hand of horses, put to a sleigh of some sort. Down at the bottom, it says, "Equipages of His Majesty, Lord Minto. The Governor-General of Canada." with "Reprinted from: The Rider and Driver - February 1902" Just cool I thought!

And then there's a another carriage, pulled by a pair....thinking Victoria carriage? But I don't know.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help! I didn't actually end up using those pictures, however I thought I would mention that this five page(double spaced) essay that I had to write, as well as the presentation, and posterboard was out of 100marks. It was worthy a HUGE chunk of our final grade and guess what I got on it...it was the highest mark out of ALL the classes and I was the only one to get it. ONE HUNDRED OUT OF ONE HUNDRED!!!! WAhooooooooo! Go me! :aktion033: :aktion033:
