Each year there is a local Easter Festival and parade. This is the 2nd year we have participated with the horses.

"Hetty the Hen" cira 1970. She has never had a make over and leads the parade every year.

My Mother was thrilled that she got to lead Bailey in the parade. My son decided he was 'too cool' this time around.

The parade finishes in the valley, surrounded by mountains. A very beautiful spot. The weather was a perfect autumn day too.

The horses were smothered with love and attention all day. They performed the few tricks they know too.

I think at the end of the day, they had enough 'lovin' from everyone and just wanted to be left alone as boy came over to Willow, she turned around and nipped his arm! She also pinned her ears back. I took them home straight after that as Willow NEVER bites anyone so she was trying to tell me that she wasn't having fun anymore.

Other than that, the horses were great! We had a fantastic day.

Sounds like a great day!!

On a side note, I always think ever time I see Willow pictures how much she looks like my black gelding. Same face shape and type, and same build and size. Maybe their related, hehe!

Looks like a fun day. Thanks for sharing!

Even the best of us have moments when we reach their limit of tolerating people.

I know I do.
I agree Rachel. If one more person asked when the pony rides were starting, I was going to bop them one!

Both the horses were so patient considering all the people around them. Next time I'm going to make up a small yard from them so they have some breathing room.

It looked like a lovely calm happy day--and one you all need I'm sure--after the fire situation.

My horses need their personal space after a bit, too. Your small yard idea is perfect.
