I have used this lots of times for my reining horses, under several different vets. And NO, there was no "loading" dose initially. Its to be used the same way as bute but its a once a day dose and is supposed to last almost the whole 24 hours. I have had great results with it. Again, this is my experience with it using on large horses.

Thank you Sandy, and those who have emailed. I'm going with everyone's exoperience of no loading dose.

I just started it on a dwarf of mine, and yes my vet had me give her a loading dose. It was 2 times her weight. But I am to give it to her all the time. And the box says only 14 days. But it is either give this to her or put her down. I know that will be the end result but for now the Equioxx is working and I will enjoy my baby as long as she is not suffering. lorie
