I'm trying to figure out the weight of my minis for the safeguard worming product.
I tried using the formula from my miniature horse vet book(9.36x girth(inches) + 5.01x body length(inches) - 348.53) and the numbers I got I'm not sure about. For one of my boys I can kinda believe that he weighs 325lbs, little more than I think, but he did come our of winter pretty cunky. But my other gelding is quite low in the weight department and I just can't believe that he is 312lbs. His girth measured 46"(inch off for hair) and body length of 46.
SO, for others who have used this formula, how accurate is it??? Can I trust the number I get for giving medications??
Heres recent pictures of my boys, I know its impossible to tell weight through pics, but just so you can see them compared to weight.
Rhino(325lbs)

MacDuff(312, or so says the formula)
