Hi
default_smile.png

This Is my Arabian Pony Elle who I have trained to do quite a few tricks at liberty we both love to do it, we have been working on the camel stretch (where they go down on there knees and stretch there neck right out) for a couple of weeks now and have finally got it fully on voice cue only

and the other one I have been working on with Elle has been the curtsy which is looking pretty good now.

So anyways just thought I would share these photos of Elle doing these two tricks

I am impressed. Not only are they great, the fact that there is no halter adds to how well you are doing.

:aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! :bgrin YOU MUST HAVE GREAT PATIENCE

: WELL DONE

I would think that knowing how to train horses to do those things would be a marketable skill!!!

I left one of my former show horses (Derby) in training once over the fall and winter so my former trainer could teach him to do tricks. Of course she never did so there was $$$ down the drain.

I do have a trick training book, so maybe I'll try it this fall after I'm done with shows for the year. I would think both Sunny and Derby would pick up on it fast, it's just if I would be able to teach them. I'm sure having a book is only a small part of knowing how to do it.

Congrats on what you've accomplished! I really admire your success with your horse!!!

:aktion033: I'm impressed, she's looking great

: You have done a wonderful job with her

Hi Sammy! :saludando: Elle is coming along so spectacular! I saw your photo entry of the Curtsy bow for our photo contest (on our yahoogroup), but I didn't see your second one there! You are welcome to enter that one too, (or as many as you wish), if you like! That second one looks super difficult, and shows what a great accomplishment you are achieving with your training skills! Both are just STUNNING, and make great contenders for the contest! Best of luck with all your entries! :aktion033:

Great job! It is wonderful to see horse and human working so well together.

Well the list is getting longer, but I want to add my kudos on doing such a super job training your horse. I want to try to teach mine some tricks, even got a video, but am just not sure I have the patience for it. Good Goin Girl!!!!

Hey Guys

Thankyou all so much for your kind words on Elle and my training

: I have trained other peoples horses do do this type of work, but as most of the time these are people I know pretty well I dont ask for money.

And also I dont really know what to charge for trick training?

Strass- I just play with my horses alot and I worked out how to form a strong bond with them so that they are comfortable to do anything I ask of them. I also use the three p's principle: patience, praise and persistence.

Jill- That is really awful that you trusted someone to train your horse and then they couldnt be bothered

I think you will find that your horses will learn from you really quickly, and they love to ham it up once they understand what you want from them

Tanya- I didnt realize you were on this list, should I just put the Camel stretch photo in my album or would I have to send it to you?

Thanks again everyone for your comments

Great job!! Did you learn from a book or something to teach them,

or was it something you just kind of made up to do your own way?

I can't even train my dog.

Hi Jo :saludando:

I just figured it out for myself and spent an entire summer break working on training the diffrent tricks, so its quite easy now as I know what I am doing and what works for diffrent horses

I am working on building up a trick trained team of liberty horses so far I have

Elle, Zip (black QH colt), Spirit (bay mini stallion), Quicksilver (buckskin overo paint colt) and style my Quarab gelding who are all trick trained

You've got to be kidding!!!!!! I can't believe you trained a horse to do this stuff! I can't even get my Maltese puppies house trained, let alone to do tricks!! You are exceptional!!! :aktion033:
