Last night a fire started in South west Reno. 9500 people have been displaced and 25 homes burned. One man died trying to get stuff loaded into his car. He had a heart attack. They have opened the Reno Livestock Event Center for Livestock affected by the fire. They only have the fire news on our local stations. It is a bad situation. The winds have been sustained 55 mph and 79 mph gusts. The winds are finally slowing down to about 40 mph so the situation is getting better. Please send your prayers for those affected by the fire.

It's been all over our news here in S. Cal. I was thinking of you Katiean, when I heard it. We go through forest fires here often. It used to only be at certain times of each year, but now they tell us that there is no 'fire season'. I was in a fire earlier this year, when taking care of my daughters farm and horses. It's pretty scary.

Well today you would hardly know there was a fire. They let everyone back in to find out if they were spared or not. One man said the embers were being blown over his house and through his breeze way. His neighbors house caught fire and his did not. One house had the landscaping burned right up to the front door. The house was spared. For a few it was a total loss and for others the roof is caved in and there is art work on the walls that didn't even have any smoke damage that could be seen. The fire would have been nothing had it not been for the winds. We just thank God it is over.
