Our first 2 foals of the year are here... We are expecting 9 this year (if everyone took- but I have my doubts about 2 of them so really only thinking we will have 7 foals)....
We have been lucky and both of the foals are fillies and both healthy
We are going with a John Wayne theme for the names this year....
The first one is out of L&L Apache Dawn (32" black pinto) and Sired by DGR'S NIP TUCK (32" black pinto). She is 19.50" at birth and is a black pinto. I am planning to test her to see if she is homozygous as she has lots of pawprints... Her name (pending) is DGR'S LIL COMMANCHERO. She was born 4-13-09 at 6am.
The second one is out of Cowskin's Painted Tequila Sunrise (32.50" silver dapple pinto) and sired by DGR'S NIP TUCK (32" Black Pinto). I believe she is a silver dapple pinto like momma.. I havent measured her yet or picked a name as she was just born around 12:30 today (4-18-09). This is Sunrise's first foal and she is doing a great job -- very uncomplicated labor and is being a great momma....
I was "considering" selling this stallion after this year as I bought a homozygous colt with blue eyes last year and was planning on him taking over but after seeing both of these little girls I think I will be hanging onto him for a while -- haha
Thanks for looking!!!!
**Edited to say--- I can't get the pictures to upload for some reason but if you would like to see them they are pictured on my website on the New Babies 2009 Page. Thank you!***
