When he was growing up, one ear was up and the other down,

Vet said his ears would not stand up, too big and not enough muscle to hold them up.

Well as you can see both ears stood straight up ..

We where told poodle and lab but know ears do not stand up with either breed.

His name was floppy..

What mix do you think he was ..

Yes, is ears where always up...

Cute! If I had to guess, I would say Corgi/Lab or maybe even Chihuahua/Lab

He was definitely adorable, that's for sure!

Wow, look at those ears! I would agree maybe some Chihuahua or Rat Terrier in there with those huge ears. He was cute, how big was he when he was full grown? Years ago, Rat Terriers were very popular on farms for controlling rats/mice in the U.S., not sure about Canada....but that would of been longer than 35 years ago...they are basically no more than a mix anyhow, with many different breeds and many different looks....just in the past few years have they been breeding for a standard and have they been recognized as a breed. His body type in this pic looks very similiar to my Rattie but his face not so much. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, must agree he was a eye catcher when we walked him.

Lots of people stopped to ask what he was & laughed.

He lived for 15 years, and was just a little smaller than a miniature Spitz, which we rescued for him as a companion.
