First foal for Eagles Ring Saturday night

first 2008 foal

she was born 5-3 saturday night 10pm

our first scary birth, I only had 1 leg and a head

I pushed the foal back in and tried to feel for a leg

couldn't tell what I was feeling

2nd time same presentation pushed her in again

stood the mare up went inside again felt around again didn't know what I was feeling

but next contraction had same 1 leg and head first then the 2nd leg quite a ways

behind and bent at the elbow seeming to be caught there

I just wasn't sure what to do so I did nothing for a few seconds and she

pushed her out. Thank God!!

she was up and nursing and pooped placenta passed within a few hours we were in bed

so convienent to be at 10pm and saturday night

I think she is a silver Bay (has alot of silver in her mane) like her Dam

sire is a smutty buckskin
