Good morning! My son is in second grade this year and as with each o fmy other kids they are having a Flat Stanlye project. Flat Stanley is a character that looks like a paper doll only bigger. And the project is to give Flat Stanley an adventure of some kind. Well, I thought i might try posting for help here and see if anyone would be interested in giveing Flat Stanley and adventure! It would involve me sending the doll to you and you writing about his big adventures while at your place or on your trip and also, taking and sending along pictures of Flat Stanley having these big adventures. now, one of my daughters Flat Stnley's went to live on a Christmas Tree farm in oregon for a while and we have pictures of him leanring ot use a saw, and haulign a tree to a car and then pretending to be an ornament. Very cute. Another went on a bike ride through Chile with a friend. so, it could really be anything.

If no one is interested because this will be a bit of work, I understand, just thought I would ask anyway. The project is due early next month so it has to be started this next week to make sure it is all done. Please if you do want to do this, only volunteer if you can follow through as it is a grade for my son. (not to be harsh or anything I just worry about that kind of stuff

Thank you!!!

Oh also, if more than one person wants to do it, then we could start a Flat Stanley pass around of some sort where he could spend a few days at one place and then be sent on to the next but that would be a lot of work. so, just a couple ideas.

You can post him to me if you want, I can't promise he will get to meet the Queen but I can give him an adventure!!!

oh that is SUCH a fun project we had flat stanley last year and he went to CA to see my dad and well the pics the kids had flat stanley rode a motorcycle, went on a plane went to the police station it was WONDERFUL

I'd be more than happy to help out - Flat Stanley can come to work with me!

I'm glad you're getting a good response Stacy - I'm sure visiting on the other side of the Valley wouldn't be much of trip.

We've helped friends with that - but I can't my daughter near this project any doll is to much of a doll for her - even paper! Plus she prefers the trips herself!!!

Can you post some of the Flat Stanley photo's here - Lisa's sounded cute too.

Hey, thank you all so soooooo much! I think this all sounds great. If I put together a letter with addresses and instructions, could we just send him to each spot? Maybe three days in each spot or four at the most as mailing him will be time consuming. How does that sound? Gosh, I sure wish I could just mail me too!

I can send him out tomorrow to Rabbit in England, I just need an address and if anyone that wants to participate just sends me their addresses, pm or email at [email protected] I will put together a list. Rabbit, I will send him rapid mail so he will get there fast ok and you will have plenty of time to give him an adventure and send him on.

Oh, I will gladly post pictures of his big adventure by the way, it will be fun. I can accept the pictures through email if it will make it easier for anyone and I have a photo printer so I can print them off for my son to take to class.

I think I covered everything, now everyone just put an email or pm together for me and I will get this going. My son said to say thank you to all of Mommy's friends. He is seven so this is very exciting for him! And I think Flat Stanley is pretty thrilled too, I saw him packing when he didn't think I was looking.

My son did a Flat Stanley "project" and Oliver sent him to a girl in our church in the Airforce

I and my sons would host Flat Stanley, if you so choose.

He could go to the Lewis and Clark memorial near here..or...to visit a shipwreck on the beach (all of these things are within a few miles of our home), and a waterfall, etc.

PM me if you want my address. Or email.

I am putting teh list together and will be typing everythig nout and getting him all ready for his big trip tomorrow. Flat Stanley has decided to go to London first as he feels the travel time to get there will be a factor in just how many people he gets to visit. But, we think he will be fine to visit anyone that wishes to welcome him into their lives for a short time.

Thankyou to everyone!! And, anyone that is still interested, the list is not set in stone just yet, so you can still PM or email me with your address and I will be happy to add you to the list. Also, it looks like we have more time than I had originally thought as the project is not due back until April 24th. (turn in date) so, I read the instructions with the date incorrectly. Makes for more visiting time for our little man.

He has packed his bags and is just now getting tucked into bed so he can rest up for his great adventure!

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help my son in this. He and I are so excited and Flat Stanley will have a hard tiem goign to sleep for all the excitement he is going through!

You know, this will be such fun even for us older folks. When Stanley returns home I hope you will post his adventures for all of us.
