I can't imagine. I'm just thinking about the lack of sleep and all the worry. I have to say, I'm glad my Lex is open for 2010 (I think she is too

).

I'm sorry Joanne, your post made me laugh! MY mares fart along too!

I don't start breeding until the Verrry end of April or May, so my first ones are due late March. That's earlier than is usual for me. What was I thinking??? Brrrr!!

I need to make more double thick baby blankets!

So my farthest along one is Rose at 8 months. Whew!

I must be nuts! Foaling from March til Sept!

Ellen, let me know when cameras are up,I will watch. Alot of times when no one is using the computer i'll just leave a horse on marestare, last time I had the whole family watching. The computer is in the kitchen,so you can't help but watch

. Good luck everyone!

We are so excited about our 2010 foals. We are expecting our first ASPC/AMHR foals.

Happy foaling season to everyone.

We have five mares due next year, bred to five different stallions LOL so we will have a variety this time around! The first is due mid January, three in April and the last one end of May. We are expecting everything from a 27.5" mare bred to a 26" blanket appy, to a B mare in foal to Bristol San Juan. Should be an interesting season, to say the least.

We have our first mare in and on cam. She is at 288 days and we're just getting an idea of her patterns and getting her used to a foaling stall. We bought her at auction this year and we have no idea how long she goes and what her signs are.

Our cam links are on our website...not sure they can be posted her.

We have 22 to foal for us and others.

I am SO jealous! I just love foaling season. We're in the DEAD of winter here though....that means below digit temperatures probably up until March. Who knows though, its North Dakota, we could go longer
default_sad.png
We really only have a summer 2-3 months out of the year (NO that is not an exaggeration!). My senior prom a few years ago was cancelled due to a blizzard on April 23rd so we like to plan babies accordingly...June babies for us are perfect.

I'll be watching the cams til June!

My first foal (big horse) was born Febuary 4th and it had warmed up to 4f it was -4f the night before she foaled. She was in a stall but there were no heaters. We also had 18"of snow that was going no were any time soon. I have pics of the foal out in the arena with mom snow and all. Princess is going in the stall next week and I am sure she will do just fine. We still have snow (a lot of it) on the ground so she will be in durring the night and out durring the day.

Anyone need a babysitter?

Are any of you on marestare?
My first mare isn't due until April. But then I am not sure if my other one caught, so perhaps I only have one for next year. Still, I can use all the help I can get! I had a dedicated lady helping me last year who would stay up and watch my mare on camera. My foal ended up being born on her son's birthday. It was quite the event. But the more eyes watching can help me sleep a few winks at night!

So, season 3 of "The Becca Show" is scheduled to begin the first week of April. Here is the link (we recorded her 09 birth).

Don't remind me!! It's coming too soon!!!

My planned pregnancies are due in Feb/March/April....probably one each month unless one of my maiden mares that I don't think is preggo ends up preggo....then it's 2 in April! Unfortunately Hubby didn't latch the gate once in Sept and my stallion got in with the mares for a few hours!! The mare I caught him trying to breed (and I think is the only one that was in season) is a difficult mare to breed....so I'm really hoping we don't get any extra from that oops! I pray that this foaling season is full of joy and wonderful new and healthy foals for everyone! Of course....if the filly fairy dominates that wouldn't be too bad either!!

Well, we have a little 'OOPS' mare that will be 300 days on Dec. 23rd.!!! This mare has never carried a foal, and I wasn't too concerned when I started letting our smaller stallion out with a couple bred mares, along with this mare, last Feb. I never dreamed of Chrissy coming into heat in Feb anyway!! I happened to be outside on Feb. 26th when I saw Bandit breed Chrissy by himself. This was a first for him!! Chrissy was ultra-sounded 'in foal' last May. I keep checking her to see if she's starting to make any milk yet. So far she isn't. I, too, will be praying for nice weather and a safe foaling experience for Chrissy!!!

We have 3 mares in foal for 2010, two to our stallion, Redrock Incognito, and one to Alamos Sirs Dream Weaver.

Dinah is 235 days, but she usually goes 340+.

Isis, a maiden mare, is now at 230 days.

Shelby, a maiden mare, is now approximately 163 days. I'm afraid Shelby is going to interfere with our show season!!

I have only one mare bred for 2010 - I figure this is plenty for it being my first time foaling a horse I actually own
default_biggrin.png
. . . .she was pasture bred from May 30th to September 30th so the most she could be is 202 days. I think she took during June because I haven't seen her in heat since. I have noticed her belly growing slowly but surely (she's 31.25" so I am guessing she will be dragging her belly on the ground by the time she's due
default_laugh.png
). I am very much so looking forward to this baby - and I am praying for a HEALHY baby and SAFE delivery for this pretty maiden mare.

By the way, I found a great book at Barnes & Noble that I have found very helpful in answering some of my questions. It is "The Foaling Primer" by Cynthia McFarland and I am already recommending it

We have 2 due april (Bee & Lace)

and 1 in May (Xena)

possibly 1 other mare not confirmed yet

that is bassed on 340 days so we

may have March and April babies

all 3 are bred to our smutty buckskin

Triple Ks Boogies Bowtie 28.5"

Can't wait for spring to be a nervous wreck again

We are so very, very excited about the 2010 foaling season. This will be Todd's first official foal crop ( pictured in our avatar) and our first two foals due (February) are by him one of which is a grand old show mare and Superior Dam - Michigan's Mother Margaret and both mares are starting to really show and their udders have changed just slightly. Then March, April and May will be very busy with a total of right around 30 total foals due. Can't wait for spring to arrive

Then 3 are bred to the Buckeroo Kid

and 2 are bred to Thumper. Thumper's only foal was sold to England this year, so can't wait for his to come!
