Foals eating mare droppings

Okay, I can't help it...it just grosses me out. I have heard people say it serves some purpose for the foal??

Do your foals do it? It seems some of my foals focus on it more than others. But I see they all seem to do it. I have never had an ill foal, so it must not hurt them.

Just share your thoughts or kowledge on this yucky (sorry) subject. Maybe you know something I dont!!

He's just picking up the bacteria they need to process his food. It will stop in a few weeks. Just make sure EVERYONE in his field has been dewormed.
