Ok, my website is still housed on an old system that needs dial up to access it. Does anyone know of any free websites to build a new one on that is a)easy for a complete idiot like me b) not limited on how many hits you get per month c)that is dependable and not going to disappear in a year and anything else you can think of?

I have a lot of reference pics on my reference page, etc... and I know some free sites are really limited on room and what you can do with it. I dont need anything fancy or big graphics or anything, but need something simple and serviceable....

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have mine with Freeservers and have been happy with it. If I can do it anyone can...it might not be big and "professional", but is a lot of fun, and gives you something to start with.

I used Weebly.

I don't know if there's a limited amount of space or not....but I like it and I think it professional looking. (Mine anyways, LOL!)

Michael's is on freeservers and also the one I had for our flooring business. So dang easy! We do pay a fee for keeping pop ups off of it.

I second www.webs.com

I've tried a few different ones and it is by far the best in my opinion.

Oh some good ideas... will have to check out your sites and see how it is- I am just so dumb when it comes to such technical stuff like that... I'll see what there is to see... Thanks SO much for the suggestions!

Yup, and that isn't much either. Soooo worth it, Oh how I hate pop-ups.

Which one do you use the $3 or $7. I just love your website. I am SO sick of mine not acting right. I am wanting to change.

Marty, do you have a link to Michael's site??

Did you see OHMT site? Wow, I'm totally impressed......very professional looking and easy to navigate. Now, I am going to look at the others.

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments Raine Ranch and SampleMM! I still have some updating to get done, but I got my 2011 foals put on there last night and it only took me 10 minutes which was great.

I get the premium starter package which is $50 a year and comes with 400 MB of storage space. I didn't think that was a lot, but the best part is that when you put pictures on the site, you can do so through photobucket which takes up ZERO space, awesome! There's also room for 150 minutes of video, it's ad free, and you get credit for Google AdWords which brings in a lot of traffic. The best part is that I can do the site however I want, change it whenever I want (and for no cost), update when I want, and it's super easy. There's no html coding at all (unless you'd like to do it that way), and they have a huge variety of templates ready for you to use. If you already have a domain name, webs has a step by step tutorial on how to get it switched over. I also LOVE being able to see how many people visit my site each day and where they're from (not an exact address, just the state or country) which is really neat.

As you can tell, I'm a fan

Just looked ohmt- that is nice- simple and straight forward..... Hmmmm that is about the best option I have seen yet. So it's $50 a year? I take it they have different packages?

Yep, $50 for the package I have (starter Premium) and they go up from there. There is also the Standard, but then you have to deal with pop ups and there is not as many options for templates.
