here is a not very good fuzzy picture of the same horse, I don't have very many fuzzy pictures of them. He turns a very reddish brown in the winter, and his lower legs get lighter.

With Silver Bays, it DOES make a difference WHEN you clip them, as to what color they will look clipped.

If you clip a Silver Bay while in winter coat (winter or spring months) they will actually appear to be Silver Dapple. Once the summer coat has grown in however, the coat doesn't change a whole lot when clipped.

This is Destiny.....a Silver Bay CockRobin daughter. Her dam was a blood bay. This photo was taken the day she was clipped. She looked a lot more "dapple gray" in person, than this photo shows.

And here is the same filly after summer coat grows back in.

I Love silver bays too, they are one of my favourite colours. Here is a filly Ballerina whom I showed for some friends last season. She is the most gorgeous colour, and her mane and tail are as blonde as Barbies!

Please remember I dont own this horse, the picture is a reference only. I think she had about a weeks coat on her this was in the middle of summer.

Yes she is a dark bay with silver.

Silver works on black hairs and a dark-bay has more black hairs than a regular bay, so silver will affect it more.

This is a dark silver bay too clipped:

And here's the ol' fellar a year into retirement just bumming around in the pasture. This is about as fuzzy and dirty as he gets.

I love the silver bay color. My lil guy is always changing as his coat changes. Is it normal for a silver bay to roan out? My guy has white hairs that keep poping up all over his rump, and their are always more of them!

After being clipped
