Then we speeded things up for the cones!

....and at this point my pole pin broke!

But the little stallion was a perfect gentleman, bless him! Even one of the kids forgot she was leading a mare and parked her under his nose while he was in harness. I am so proud of him, he also came 3rd in a very big stallion class.

Yes, they are Standard, Island bred Shetlands, photos taken in Shetland.

The pair, piebald and black took second in a dressage competition 3 days later. I am so pleased with them

Brilliant stuff, love to see it.!!

What happened after the pole came loose????

Leeanna- those are Shetland Ponies- what you have is another breed- it is the American Shetland and I have NO idea why it is called a Shetland.(and Yes I do know that once, long ago, Shetland Ponies were used in the breed- as they were in Miniature Horses

What Wally has, and what I used to have, are Shetland Ponies!!

Rabbit, for example is a registered Shetland Pony (Speyside and Newton breeding, Wally, going back to Hoplemuroma!!) also registered as opposed to hardshipped, AMHA and BMHS!!!

I love seeing these ponies work, it is what they were meant to do, but do you do in hand as well??

It would be great to see one set up in a halter class

We have had an amazing in hand season too.

We have had best gelding and one of our yearling colts has taken first prize at every show this year.

My little bay stallion has been up in the top 3 at every show in harness as well as in hand.

One of the 3yo fillies has taken nothing worse than 3rd all year, very, very pleased also one 2yo colt has come second in every class.

Here's the yearling colt.
