I was just wondering what was the longest length of gestation you guys have had, I'm starting to worry. This is my first mini foal. Abbys was pasture bred and is at 343 today, We have had wax, we had a colic episode, here is a picture of her bag. She is a maiden. Thanks, Kathy

I am buying a mare who's at day 361 today (if the breeding dates on the stallion certificate are correct)....I left her where she was to foal out because she was 'technically' due March 15th.....and yep, you guessed it...she's still holding out

: (if I'd tried to bring her home, she'd have foaled on the trailer on the way! That's just my luck!)

: I have a maiden mare that I estimated was due March 10th. Apparently, she didn't catch on the first breeding. We had bred, them a month later put the stallion and two mares in the pasture together. Ran them that way for 3 months. This mare is showing all signs of being ready, laxed in the rear end, Vulva elongated, bags full and tight, aggitated, rubs butt on fencing. Etc.... I have been watching her for over a month now....

: I think the foal will be already grown up by the time we get to see it.

Good luck with your mare.

As a general rule around here my minis even the B/shetlands foaled before day 345 which is the standard expected. I had one go 352 last year. Most of mine go between 300 and 330 days. If your mare was pasture bred, it could be that she didnt breed the first day she was put out with the stallion. Her nipples are still pointing somewhat towards each other.... I have found that when they are near to foaling they point straight down or straight forward. One of my geldings baked for 377 days! He was born with teeth!

I hand bred a 33 in mare and she went 383. Baby was a little big but all went well, we had to assist a little. All it did was make a nervouse wreck out of the whole family!!
