I know I posted about a month ago who had gotten it done, like it, disliked it ext......Lots of helpful posters and lots of happy people with just a few dissapointed. So was just going to let the posters now that I too will be getting it done.

Went back down Tues to have them check again as to if I was still a canidate and they said it should work perfect on the way my eyes are. So I went ahead and booked for an appointment and as they only do Lasiks on Thursday and Tuesday I will be going back tommorrow with my appointment the first one, so I can get it over with before college starts back on the 17th. Getting the new 'CustomeVue' Lasik done. This doctor is the states number 1 docotr and has made the Top 100 doctors for the past several years and they are well below the national avg. of the 5% that Lasik dosen't work on at only 2-2.5%.

Will let you know how it goes!

Good luck Erica. I know you will love it if it works for you half as well as it has worked for people I know.

Good Luck Erica!!! You're going to LOVE it! My husband is so amazed by walking outside and seeing stars he has never seen before!

I watched it on Newlyweds Nick&Jessica on tv a while back. I really am considering getting it done when im older, i just dont want to be awake. Our office lady at school got it done and she said it was amazing afterwards.

I've been wearing glasses now for ten years and absolutely hate it. I am really considering this too, but I am such a weenie.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

Congratulations Erica!!!

Having worn glasses all my life, I know how much you are looking forward to having great vision without them!!! I hope that everything goes smoothly, and you are able to see a gnat on Peanut's rump when you are finished! LOL!!!

Please keep us posted on how the surgery goes, and how improved your vision is afterwards! Everyone I have talked to afterwards, swears it is the best thing that they had ever done!

Good luck! I'd like to know about your experience as this is something I hope to have done myself, someday. I cannot stand glasses and my contacts are such a pain...

Good luck with your surgery Erica!!

I am planning on having it done this year as well. I can't wait to not have to wear glasses anymore...I hate them! Been putting the surgery off, because of the cost, but soon I will have insurance, so I can finally get it done!!

I had it done in 2001. I was totally dependent on my glasses no way was I able to drive or do much of anything without wearing the glasses, shoot I couldn’t even HEAR right without my glasses on or so it seemed anyway.

I can remember going on a hike in the rain and sitting on a hill looking out over the ocean at Point Saint George lighthouse, it sits out to sea a few miles. I remember calling a friend with my cell phone just so I could tell her how good it felt to be sitting in the rain without glasses on.

Erica one thing you will probably do for a long time after having the lasik done is try to take your glasses off at night or before a shower

I did that for the longest time.

They have come a long way in lasik just in the last few years. When I had mine done it came with a lifetime free enhancement, after reading your thread I have decided to have the enhancement done this summer.

I never did get 20/20 with my lasik but it was good enough so that I could see pretty darn well. I think it was 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other. One thing good about that is I still don’t need reading glasses for most things. When I do the enhancement I will need readers but anyone that has been dependent on glasses I think will agree that having to use readers is not as bad as having to wear glasses for everything.

Good Luck.

Good Luck, Erica! You are at the top of my thoughts this morning!!! Can't wait to hear how happy you're going to be with the results!
