I just found a pallet of pelleted bedding .70 a bag cheaper 15 minutes from work. So that means no ROAD TRIP up north for me. YEAH!

I know its not Friday but I think we need some GOOD NEWS early!

I think you are right - we are all hurting for our Forum family members who are going through tough times with their horses. I have a few small bits of good news - Our little Munchie is probably pregnant with her first - it was not intended but when we were out of town last summer our help let Blaze out with the others. We watch her weight carefully because she is so small and had been so overweight when we got her that the vet thought she'd die. I guess the popular term is baby bump but I believe I am seeing a baby bump - for a May foal. It will be the only foal this year. Margie has been feeling better and her hubby had brought home three pygmy goats - one (Gladys) had a kid - he calls her Suzy and she is the cutest little thing I have ever seen. About three pounds of black and white silky hair and hops around like a jumping bean. No photos yet my cam isn't getting shady barn pics very well. Miniature brood mares out in the rain $80,000, 16 stall mini barn $20,000, Mamma goat $2, Suzy in the barn - priceless!

:aktion033: Yeaa Kim on the "bedding find", cheaper AND closer, it doesn't get better than that, and DOUBLE YEAAAAAA Kay on Tiny's fast recovery and soon-to-be homecoming. Great news from you both. Here's my "happy dance" news of the day, the handy/dandy rein board Kim (Whitney) made for me arrived this morning, and she did a beautiful job on it, it's pretty enough to mount permanantly in my sewing room so it will be handy to use when I'm in the house and won't tempt me to spend time with it while I'm in the barn and need to be doing barn things. AND, the sun is shining and it's 45 degrees in Central Illinois and in only 37 more days we will set the clock up an hour, Illinois Horse Fair weekend will be here, and winter will be behind us (I hope).

Finding cheaper bedding is always nice. Yeah Kay!! I'm glad Tiny is doing better!! It's my Friday today and after today I have 7 off!!!! That's my good news.

Your Friday topic caught my attention LOL I had to double check

the calendar on the computer. I knew I slept well last night but didn't

think I'd lost a whole day......

I do have good news.

I found a new Mom for my driving gelding that I am so comfortable with,

it has taken the stress out of finding him a new home.

Small world that it is, we actually have some horse aquaintances in

common and her father in law and Michael worked together years ago.

Kay that is such good news about Tiny coming home!!

I have some Friday good news!! My german shepherd "Flynn" was hit by a car yesterday evening coming back from bringing horses in from the field and had to have a serious operation today to repair his broken radius/ulna with bone grafts and external fixators. The operation was a success so as long as infection doesnt become a problem he can come home tomorrow (friday) !! :aktion033: :aktion033:

My Friday good news started 2 weeks ago on Friday the 13th. I went out to feed and found a newborn palomino pinto filly, which was not due until Feb. 8th. So the good news at that point was that she was still alive, very cold though. Brought her in, prepared a foaling stall (she was to have been my first born this year, but thought I had another month to get things ready). Then the bad started, mama didn't have any milk--just some clear liquid. I gave her 2 shots of oxytocin that day, which didn't help, and gave the baby frozen colostrum from the freezer, which turned out not to help either. She flunked her IgG on Monday, so had to have a plasma transfusion on Tuesday. Mama was started on the "magic" domperidome on Sunday to bring in her milk. The doctor said to give it to her daily until the milk came down. That took 10 days, all the while I was syringe and bottle feeding the baby Foal-Lac. I have worried about septicemia, as she was born in not so clean conditions, and navel was not immediately attended to, but hopefully enough time has passed that she won't have that problem.

So my GOOD NEWS for tomorrow Friday is that I seemingly have a gorgeous, healthy baby and I have survived the stress and work.

Good news here is that the crab price is finally acceptable for everyone to go fishing and they even made a little money before the second "strike" so just maybe we'll make it through til some decent money comes in!

That and everyone here is happy and healthy, and my mare, Cherry, will be foaling soon. Looking forward to this baby, as always.

Oh Rita I WANT THAT FILLY!! What a cutie, thank goodness all seems ok with her now!

Our good news is that our Folly is feeling better now, she had the grumbellies this morning, I HATE these weather changes!

All the rest of the herd are finer n froghair as they say and enjoying the cold snap!

Oh Rita, what a cutie! Bless her heart! I hope she stays well and healthy for you!

I found Willy a PERFECT home with other minis and a child to spoil him
default_smile.png
She is coming to get him tomorrow (she had to put one of hers down last week and her other gelding is lonely

) I just wasn't prepared for him to go that quick but I won't complain since I am happy where he is heading and it is close enough for me to visit too!

Well, I don't have horses any more, and a lot less dogs, but my good news is that I was able to afford to get my girls new beds and mattresses. We got them yesterday and I nearly broke my back getting them together last night, with little help. I still have some finishing touches to do today, but they got to sleep in them last night :aktion033:

Well my good news is that my family, friends, and animals are all healthy and safe, I got a new job, I'm getting a new mini this Saturday, and a good friend of mine is getting 2 next week!!!

Thank you lord for all the blessings in my life!!
