When I fed this evening I heard a meow that wasn't familar.... there was a black kitty in Lotto's box with him. Not one of ours! I said hello, and the kitty came out and up to me.

She is starving. I mean, if she weighs three pounds I'd be surprised. Nothing but skin and bone- literally. She looks like one of those Halloween kitties you see in the cartoons.

She let me pick her up and loved to be cuddled. I took her to the barn where we feed the other kitties, but she didn't seem to want the food we have. So I literally jumped in the car and ran to the store and bought canned food. She liked that! I believe she ate at least half the can.

So little Spooky could use some prayers and good thoughts. I just can't afford to take her to a vet.

As a side note, the feral kitty we call Yellow Kitty actually let me PET him today. I also kinda picked him up by the scruff because he tried to push Spooky out of her wet food. He didn't panic or fear bite, he just moved out of the way. Once she was done I let him finish it and petted him some more. He gave me the evil eye and growled a bit, but stayed there....normally he runs the moment I get too close.

Poor kitty. Canned cat food is the thing for her--if she is eating it, she has a very good chance. I once found a young kitten that was starving--she was so weak she didn't put up any fuss at all when my mom scooped her up that night we first saw her. She should have been wild--I know which neighbor's place she came from and she'd have had no human contact there in her young life. When I took her in the house & gave her some food she was so desperately hungry that she got in the middle of the food dish, but had trouble actually eating. But, she pulled through and in just a couple days she was much stronger.

Keep your poor little kitty warm, offer her food often and make sure she has water & she should do okay. The worst will be if she has been exposed to some virus; in her run down state it will be easy for her to develop an upper respiratory tract infection--that would be when a vet would be required, unless your vet will give you antibiotics on request as mine will (much cheaper than a vet call!)

Good luck, and good thoughts for kitty!

Poor little thing. I'll pray for her

She is eating the wet food very well and talks to me constantly. I think she's part Siamese...
