Hi everybody,

I am looking for a good trainer to send my really spooky 2 year old shetland mare to. I have to send her out to be trained because I just don't know what to do with her anymore.... I've tried to get her trained myself but she's way too spooky and usually completely spazes about things. So I am looking to send her out to be trained for 2 or 3 months.... I need a trainer in western Wisconsin or Eastern Minnesota, must be good and easy on the horses. I've had really bad experiences with trainers beating my horses (they were an arab gelding and an appendix gelding). References would be good too.... Thanks for the help!

This is the mare I am wanting to send out!

What are you wanting her trained to DO?

I am looking to have her broke at least to drive. She isn't registered so I don't see a point in halter training her. But I would love to drive her. She's got a beautiful high stepping trot. I would also like to break her to ride since my son is going to out grow his mini at some point and she would be a nice little mare for him (hopefully). I've had a couple people PM me and tell me to contact Renee at Claybury in Princeton, MN but I am looking for someone closer to the Hudson, WI area. Thanks for the help everyone!

Renee is worth the extra miles. Nobody would take better care of your horse than she would. And nobody would do a better job of training it to drive. She is meticulous when it comes to training.

You are not going to find anybody close to hudson. I live in New Richmond and Renee is the closest. She is about 1.5 - 2 hours from there. She is worth it, and I have driven that many times just to go see my boys that were there.

She does do driving training.

I agree with all the votes for Renee! She does a fantastic job and unlike many trainers she takes things slow and easy and at the horses pace. Her main concern isn't getting your dollar, but helping your horse be a better horse. If the horse doesn't have the right mindset for driving, she'll tell you that too. We are extremely lucky to have Renee!

Just heard back from Renee today. She doesn't have any spots open right now for trainning.... I'm going to see about getting Lee-Lee in next year to be trained!
