Hip # 159 was a black and white splash yearling filly I had the winning bid on her and the lady no saled her said she wanted 1500 when i went to find the lady at the end of the sale i couldnt find her.

Thank you, I really liked that filly. The blue eyes were a plus. I'm a blue eyed lover. I thought she would have made a really nice show filly. I passed on her because I have way to many now on my show string.

Thanks again! :bgrin

Hi I'm new to the forum. I've been going to the Greencastle auction since 2000. Unfortuately the stallions allways go cheap unless they are reallllly special like that Timber Ridge appy from the dispersal. The highest I have ever seen was a little filly pintaloosa that went for almost 9K, someone really wanted her. I think the quality was almost the best I have seen due to the dispersal sale from PLF. I too had to sit on my hands, cause I have plenty to care for now. The spring is the best time to sell a stallion, but I've seen some really nice boys go for really cheap, I have one myself out of a Lucky Four mare sired by Fallen Ash Scouts Nightcap. He's a lover at 2 he's looking really nice. I would love to show him but I've had some serious knee problems. I paid less than 300.00 for him, I was floored when Toni Reese let him go for that. But extremely thankful that I got him. Excellent forum glad I found it! You all seem very nice.

Welcome Maxi! I am glad you found us. This board is awesome and so helpful.

That salae was wild! I have 2 colts for sale but I dont think Greencastle is the place to sell. I am going to sell them cheap around here so I know they will get a good home.

I am in the same boat. I was considering taking a 5 year old stallion to the auction but I figured I would hold on to him and try to sell him locally also. I want to know he is going to a good home. My plans have changed since seeing how bad the stallions sold. I'm going to have him gelded (Not that good of a pedigree, confirmation is OK). He is already broke to ride. I'll also work on breaking him to drive, makes them more marketable. I'll still try to sell him locally 1st. if no luck I'll take him to Greencastle in Oct.

Thanks for the welcome looks like a wealth of information and friendly mini people,

Mary
