I have been googling this for the past hour and have had no LUCK at all. We are in the ohio central horse capital and i cant find one anywhere.

Sammy is very green on ground manners (wants to push you over, schratch his head on you, doesnt know how to whoa when leading, doesnt want to follow you *draggs you*, jumping and agressive). I need a trainer badly.

So does anyone know any trainers in Ohio that could help? Or anyone that has any experince here. I would train him, but he is to much for me to handle. Now if he was 13 or 14HH ...i would be fine. 15.3 is a bit much for me. Thanks

Phone numbers, websites or anything would be great.

Leanna, did you buy him at a sale too? Is this trouble you are having with him the reason you wanted to take him to the sale? Do with him the same things you did with your mini when you thought you couldnt handle him either. If you keep buying these young untrained horses they are ALL going to be the same. None of them know how to mind and you dont know how to teach that. My recomendation to you is so find great homes for ALL of these young unmanageable for you horses and get one that is well trained and work with him. I really dont think you have the understanding you need yet to handle these youngsters of ANY breed. I dont know your situation but I do know that you have bought now some young untrained horses, Sammy, the poa filly, your minis .....and until you learn what to do with them this will always be tough for you.

Not trying to put you down but even though you say you have been around horses all your life....there is a difference between knowing how to handle a horse and not be afraid( which you were before) and just being around them. Im just telling you what we are all seeing in each of your posts. you have big desiers and big dreams and that is a good thing but you have to be realistic. Dont jump around so much....stick to one project horse. train it well then go on to another. I feel overwhelmed some days with 3 of them under 2 and getting in all the training I know they need. I would be tearing my hair out at your place with all the new babies that need attention and education!

Maybe harsh but really true. Ashley Leeanna needs to think about this really hard .....all of her posts have been for help with basic training issues and posting new YOUNG horses. Doesnt do anyone any good to just say everything is going to be ok when it is going to become frustrating to her because the horses wont do what she wants. You are older and have more true horse experience. It is obvious that you are more knowledgable . The sort of questions she is asking are real beginner things. Wish you lived closer to her so you could help her. Wish I lived closer.....

Sammy was not bought at a sale. He was purchased from a lady who breeds arabians and half arabians and shows them nationally. I looked into his background and i knew he was green. I had heard how arabians were but i dont beleive all that stuff.

Sammy is just like any other 18 month old horse ...he needs training and a professional to do it or at least get him started.

We did not purchase the POA bc someone offered allot more money then us (even after saying we were going to get her today). And rocky is trained almost better then Coco. Currently i have Sammy, Coco, Rocky and Joey. 3 trained horses and 1 untrained horse. Plus i have 1 Barrel Paint left who im thinking about selling to jessica since i really have no use for him since running barrels is outof my future plans and i know jess will give him a good home and i can still ride him.

Lyn_j ...its fine, i can take harshness most of the time. Im sensitive but not that sensitive. Dont worry.

anyone have any websites by any chance for trainers in Ohio since i ahve no google luck and the phone books dont have any.

I would suggest going to your local feed or tack store and asking them or see if they have a bulletin board that may have some trainers on it.

Good luck,

Shannon

Dont know about IAHA, so not sure, isnt her name and or contact info on his papers?

If he is registered the breeders name and address will be on the papers not to hard to track them down unless they skipped town

I would contact them first as they should know a good trainer in your area or be willing to help you themselves......And if he is a true 15.3 that is one way huge arabian
