Two nights ago we got a phone call. First on my cell, I did not answer it beacuse I did not reconize the phone number. Then almost immediately the house phone rang. Still did not reconize the number, but answered it anyway. On the phone was a gentle mans voice,"Is this Rockin R Ranch" yes it is can I help you? "Is this Theresa Renninger", yes it is, can I help you?? "The Theresa and Art Renninger that just laid Gunny to rest", I sat for a moment, don't know why but I was afraid, and I said yes very softly. He said God Bless you for what you did for that poor little horse... He said "Are you there", yes Sir I am here. He was VERY vauge on who he was, he said it did not matter, all that mattered was Gunny. He asked me about Gunny, and said he was very sorry for his passing. That a friend had called him and told him to go to lil beg and read my post. As he was talking to me, he was all choked up and had to keep stopping to re-compose himself. He said that he had called his wife at Nationals and they decided that they were going to donate a 9x14x1 Granite memorial for Gunny!!!!! Can you say "

" Both he and I cried!!! After a few times of him calling me, I asked for his name again, he finally gave it to me. This is why I asked for a photo edit of Gunners picture. I emailed them both to 4everinmyheart.com. They will chose one to use. The Angels who did this for Gunny are forum members...located in Texas. I won't post their names "yet" as I do not have their permission. I hope that they do not want to remain unknown. We would like to PUBLICLY thank them...There is a special place in Heaven for these two wonderful people!

Seems that both posts about Gunny have had me crying. Tears of sorrow for you and Art that he's gone; but also tears of joy that he had such a wonderful home with you.

Theresa-

I am crying as I type this. I am so glad Gunny is going to get this recognition. How wonderful these people are - I too hope they will let you thank them publicly as they deserve it and then some. You know lady, you and Art are such wonderful people and deserve good things to happen.

Wow...what a wonderful update your story. The original made me cry; now I'm crying again. God bless you and your family for what you did for Gunny and God bless the people who want to memorialize him. Would you ever have imagined that your little guy could touch so many hearts?

You, your family and Gunny all deserve this memorial, and I'm so happy that you are getting it!

If only every abused and neglected mini could have an ending like Gunny's and Lil Miss Tennessee's.

Your first story about Gunny made me cry and the sequel does too, what kind people you are and what kind people the forum members are to give you a memorial of Gunny. I hope they let you tell us who they are so I can thank them too. Now Gunny will be remembered forever.

Bless you for being there for Gunny. God sent you to him to save him. He will be in your heart for ever.

God Bless those that donated the beautiful marker for Gunny.

I rescued my show stallion from the man who bought him from my ex husband. The man bought him last year in Nov. I helped him set up the stallions paddock and I bought his a bag of feed and gave specific feeding instructions. I went and checked on him several times and everything seemed ok. The man agreed to breed to the mare that a couple bought that lived about 20 mins away. She came into heat towards the end of Feb, so we contacted the man and he agreed for us to come get the stallion. We got there to find that he was feeding the horses (2 big, 2 minis) molded tortillia chips and tortillias because he owned a bakery. The stallion could not get to the hay, the man said he gave the stallion hay daily. The stallion was skin and bones. At least 1/2 the horse he was. I was furious. We took him to my friends place, groomed him, trimmed his feet, wormed him and started him slowly on feed (soaked beet pulp too) and alfalfa. It took 3 months before he started looking like the horse he was. My friends are moving out of state, so they are letting me buy the mare back. The stallion is still with the mare as they are best of buds - they were my first mini babies from when I raised minis. I refuse to give the stallion back. I have pictures of when we rescued him and will use them if need be. I promised my stallion that I would never ever let this happen to again.

I can't find the original story....where is it....clicked the link and couldn't find it.
