Just had another interview............this was for a non permanent job, it is for an assistant High School tennis coach, which I played for 8 years so I am qualified................it will at least bring some money in.............

Congrats, and I bet you will also enjoy working with the kids. Could be really rewarding in that way

May be NON permenant but who knows where it would lead! Right?

Hang in there, Rob.

Good luck Rob, losing a job and looking for work is a "challenge" to one's self-esteem for sure.

Hope one is the "right" one soon.

Anne

Well didn't get that one either.................they gave it to the other guy who never played tennis in his life, and would have problems getting there on time........................I would be there EARLY, and played tennis for 8 years during school and still some now..............I just don't get it.

Bummer, Rob, who knows what they were thinking.

Hey, I got turned down by McDonald's, myself (Oh, thank heaven for blessings in disguise!).

I think you'll find something you really like, soon. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Liz M.

I feel as Liz has stated. In my own past, it's always been that things like this have turned out to be blessings and I've thought back and been thankful for what at first had me disappointed.

I will be looking soon for something to do after we move. And the thought of job hunting is not one of joy...but necessary to get from here to there. The job that is meant to be is out there for you. It will come along, just keep searching and talking to everyone you know. It is amazing... the power of word of mouth! Good luck!

: Yes networking is the best way to get a job. Got my first that way and my favorite that way and my last 3 that way.

Aw GEEZ it's hard to tell what pushed them the other way. These things are so subjective and sometimes a person just doesn't have a clue on how these deicisions are made.

It could be as simple as the fact that with your experience they thought they might have had to pay you more.

Sorry about that. Interviewoing is the "pits" you have to keep being positive after taking these "let downs" to each interviewer.

Keep at it, through the discouragement.

It'll happen.

Anne

Well, phoey on them, Rob! :new_shocked: I remember well the TWO of THREE interviews I went to in hopes of becoming a poop scooper for the Oregon Humane Society. They were private board room interviews with three corporate schmucks and wow, were they ever drilling me. I almost couldn't stand to sit there listening to their lines of B.S. and me thinking how incredibly over-qualified I was for the job that barely paid anything, anyway. When they called to schedule me for the third and final interview and told me they were "very interested" I had no problem telling them NO THANKS and GOOD LUCK!

You'll find something soon.

Rob, I'll be happy to write a letter of support for you any time you ask. You have dealt well with me, and I appreciate it. You'll find something, I promise. If you need my help, just let me know by email or PM. I'm thinking that you are going places in this world!
