Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there!
I have been so blessed to have wonderful men in my life, starting with my Dad! He is just amazing and I love watching him be a Papaw to my girls. When my youngest daughter was 9 days old, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition. She was in ICU before and after her first heart surgery at 2 weeks old. We never left her alone, so my Dad would come and sit with her from 10 p.m to 4 a.m. so my husband and I could get some sleep. Every time I would come to relieve him at 4, my daughter was never in her bed, but always in Papaw's arms being rocked. She's still very much Papaw's girl.
And my husband is just the most amazing father! He and my oldest daughter just got back from a mission trip to Ecuador. The time they spent away together was awesome and I love that at almost 13, she has such a tight bond with her Dad!
I am also so excited for my little brother! He's going to be a Daddy again any day and it's a boy! He so deserves this happiness. He is an amazing step-father to his almost 16 year old step-daughter. And he is so excited to be having this baby that he and his wife didn't think was possible. He deserves this happiness! His first daughter with his first wife was born premature, and we lost her when she was 11 months old. He was only 21 and I don't know how you handle that crushing grief at that age. But at 32 years old, he has become an amazing man and he is a detective for a major city police force and he is amazing!
