I am really happy to see this forum is available but I found it to late. I hve not been on little beginnings in a while. I just over the weekend found some neglected miniatures. The lady contacted me and said she had lost her job and has 3 children and her husband is in rehab. She told me she need to sell her horses asap to make money for a house payment. I had known the lady and had seen her horses before but had not been to her place in probably 1 1/2 years. Well I told her I would come over and take some phtos and pass them on to mini people I know. She told me that she would take $100 for the yearling and $500 for the mares that could be infoal or the stallion. They are all Gold Seal or WCMHR.

It never dawned on me until on the way over there. With what all she had said was going on, "What kind of shape were the horses going to be in." Well I found out very quickly.

The foals were in good weight but had never had vacc, deworming or farrier care and were 5 to 8 months AND still nursing on moms.

The stallion was in good weight too.

There was 4 mares there. One was in good weight, two were ribby and one was a every thin. You could feel her ribs and her back bone. I opened her mouth and all her teeth were horid. She had an even bite but she had the worse smile I had seen. She was unable to chew very well and was not going to put weight on. The adult horses did not have any farrier work or vac or deworming either.

On the way home mom and I looked at each other and were very upset. We new we had to get them out ASAP. We called the lady when we got home and told her that her horses we in very bad and poor shape. I would do my best to find them homes but if anyone came forward with a reasonable offer on them she BETTER take it because there is an animal control agent in the area and if anyone see the horses and contacts him, he WILL take all the horses and she is likely to get fined. She was unhappy to hear it but it was the TRUTH!!!!

I contacted all the people that I knew and told them the situation and by Sunday this all started on Friday all the horses were on there way to new homes.

I have sence Sunday had the people that got the horses all ready call me and tell me the horses had already seen the vet and the farrier was on the way.

I hope I never have this situation again but at least I know I will be able to post here if I do.

I'm glad to see that you could get these guys better homes. Keep CMHR in your favorites on your computer incase you ever need them for some reason. :aktion033:
