Has anyone gone to/planning to preview the horses

I was surprised by the Buckeroo direct get prices. I would have loved to have gotten Ballistic, especially for 10K!

Congratulations Carolyn, I can't think of a nicer person who deserves to get her dream horse.

Ahhh, finially got in, I've been running all day. I had to do all the leg work over the phone, no internet access, LOL.

Finially after talking about it forever, I did it, I got a Buckeroo son!

Little Kings LKB Buckeroo Dream is coming to live in eastern PA!

CONGRATS ! Holly and I looked at eachother and hoped it was YOUR winning bid!! Good for you - he's an awesome boy and showed very well today on that stage. You're gonna like him!

We got two mares - tried for one more and couldn't get through after 5 numbers were tried! I was peeved as the bidding stopped and stalled and I couldn't get through to any of the numbers. But considering we weren't supposed to "even think of bidding" - and got two - can't complain. hahahahahaha

Ballistic went for 13,000 to the best of my knowlege. I'm sure they'll update the catalog with the winning bids for all to see. But I wrote down 13K in the book. Wrote each price as we sat through the whole thing (missed maybe 4 total).

For an auction, I was pleased with the buckeroo get fetching higher numbers as they should have. While they would have commanded more directly off the farm - for an auction I was glad they weren't give away prices actually. True test that good quality horses still bring good money even in this economy.

I just mmissed it by two horses what did lot #64 Little Kings Buckeroo Taboo sell for? I really liked her and seeing what those after her sold for.. im soo mad.. they seem to be selling cheap and I may have actually been able to get her. I will probably be upset when I find out. LOL

thanks,

Alisha

$ 8,500

The catalog on her and their others mares said "vet checked in foal" but during the sale they said they had just been bred the week before so too early to be confirmed. More like exposed but definitely not vet checked.

Anyone know what After Dark went for? I have loved him since he was a very young boy.......

Thanks for all the kind comments! I can't wait to see Dream in person.

I feel fortunate to be the new owner of a horse that is not only a Buckeroo son, but was owned by and good enough to be used by Lowell Boone, the very man that was the breeder/original owner of Buckeroo himself!

Marlene and Holly, you two made out pretty well considering you were in the "forbidden mini zone".

You two must have great hubbies!

Hope those foals decide to make an appearance soon

Carolyn, I am so excited for you. I have seen several of his offspring in person and was very impressed by them. Congrats on a GREAT purchase.....

"Boozer" After Dark went for $6K I believe. While Ballistic went for $13K. Some colts were going to $100 a pop and most were no sales. I'm buying a mare that was no saled with a 3 in one package!

If I remember right Lot #10 was only $500 or so. He was cheap I believe. And #26 was super cheap too. He started out at like $300. I believe he got close to $1K. Geldings were not going for much.

Wow, its a good thing I didn't watch, I might have had to buy them both, and I really dont need more horses right now. Im a sucker for geldings, which luckily for me, and usually SUPER cheap in the miniature horse world.

Congrats Carolyn! Im so happy for you! I have such great memories of walking in Lowells barn and petting dreamer. I wish you lived closer. Id love to buy a breeding and breed him to one of my mares

I have to send ya a funny story Lowell told me about him.

Lot 26 no saled at 600.00. Stunning horse I couldnt believe no one was bidding on him

# 10 No Saled at $500 (colt not a gelding) and I think # 26 also no saled.

I forgot, does anyone know what lot 67 sold for?

I knew 10 was a colt, but he was still young, so gelding would have been simple and he likely didnt have a lot of stallion tendencies yet.

Coming fro the big horse world I still cant beleive that geldings are almost worthless in the mini world. Oh well, Ill still continue to love them.

Thanks Kay, I'd love to hear about Lowell and him, back in the day. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, give a holler. Nothing fancy here, but they're all well loved and cared for, & we're always up for visitors ;)

Congratulations! he's a beautiful boy. Was he owned by Boones? I thought he was just named after Lowell, but bred and owned by the Eberths.

Congrats to all the lucky bidders!! I was VERY good and sat on my hands. Interestingly enough, every time I left the computer and went outside for a minute and came back in, hubby was JUST getting up from watching the auction! We may have a convert yet!

He was bred by the Eberths.

Lowell owned and used him in his breeding program, he also personally showed him in color and halter classes at the national level, (if I am not mistaken) when Dream was younger. If anyone is able to add to or corrrect any of this, please do so!

I dug up old AMHA wins on the internet, and sure enouugh, Lowell was his handler too.

He was owned by Lowell and after his passing, was purchased by SunWoods (I don't think there were any other owners in between.)
