Have you timed yourself?

I'm with Heidi, I love the outside chores...hate the inside stuff. Never actually timed myself..usually out by 8:00am..39 mini horses and donkeys...one full size horse. 5 pastures and a little barn in each pasture...everyone fed separate except the donkeys. Clean water, barns, drag pastures everyday...obsessive about poop. Try to stay on schedule with feet trimming..a few every day for grooming and foot care (LOVE that part the mostest). Usually start getting hungry and wanting a caffeine charge around 1:00. If hubby is OTR...then I am back out around 4 or 5 (if I have to cook then I don't make it back out until at least 6) and can be out there until 10 or 11 pm. After evening feeding its my time to just sit and listen to them munch hay and love on them.

Now if I have to do the dreaded grocery store or feed store...errands then I think I can get the chores done in 2 hours...moving very fast and not trying to get every little piece of poop and no loving and playing around. I usually do half the water in the morning the other half in the evening. Of course when the water is frozen...oh man that's a whole different thing...HATE that! Some day I am going to have a hydrant in every pasture...please Santa...I been good.

Well I currently have 15 minis - they are all stalled at night -

Morning chores take between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours - that is feeding - putting fresh water outside - hay outside - cleaning all stalls - changing all water buckets inside the barn and wiping them out.

Nighttime feeding is about 1/2 hour, but if the horses had to stay in due to bad weather then it is another 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

I don't mind at all though as my time with the horses is the best therapy in the entire world. I really enjoy spending as much time as I can with them.
