I have severe headaches, mine are due to a deviated septum....surgery and rhinoplasty after the new year for me. My sil was having bad headaches and vision problems... ended up being a cyst on her petituary gland (originally they thought tumor until they got in there) You need to have more tests to try and determine the cause....nothing to play around with.

About half of my headaches are caused by my neck being out, I see the chiropractor for an adjustment and it'll go away. a few are sinus issues and some are just headaches.

I don't envy you that surgery, I had it 20 some years ago. I was out for it, as there was no way I was going to be awake while they broke and then fixed my nose. And, to be perfectly honest, I was not in pain after the surgery just extremely uncomfortable, and I kid you not, they stuff like 30 feet of gauze up there after the surgery and remove it at a follow-up visit. I was very uncomfortable lying down the first week or so after surgery, so slept in a recliner during that time.

Definitely sounds like you have pinched nerves! Headaches here for all sorts of reasons, but my top two are sinus and tension. I hear neti pots are great for packed sinuses and for tension/sinus headaches I do facial exercises. You can find some carol maggio facial exercises on youtube. When all else fails a nap and some pain relievers. I'm sure you got a lot of great suggestions!

I'm not looking forward to it, been putting it off for so long, just can't take it anymore, I'm sick of not being able to breathe through my nose and the sinus issues. I do netipots, nosestrips, and otc as well as prescription sinus meds...they help alittle for about 30 mins and thats about it. Have sinus headaches constantly...it's funny my nose feels stuffed up, but there is nothing in there (as in drainage)...doc says mine is pretty bad. I hope the surgery helped you? Some say it helps some say no.

I had a septoplasty in June and it wasn't bad at all. Had a gauze 'mustache' under my nose for drainage and no gauze in the nose but did have plastic splints in both sides which were strange. Not much pain, just uncomfortable, and slept in my La Z Boy for a few days which worked great as I was able to watch my mare on the monitor since I didn't sleep well anyway. Trust me, you will be so glad you did it, you will be breathing so clearly on that side and you will be amazed.

Its somewhat better, but still have plugged days, well actually nights, I can't breathe through my nose well at night, so mouth breathe and thus snore.

I don't get headaches too often, but when I have a stellar one, I take 2 Tylenol and 1 (or 2) Advil at the same time. My eye doctor recommended this to me and he called it "poor man's morphine". It does work really well.

Thanks chandab and sfmini......I hope I get relief from it (and my husband as my snoring at night is unbearable so im told, he has resorted to earplugs last few months, I even wake myself at times)...mine is worse at night as well. I dont like to take tylenol as I am a recreational cocktail drinker, tylenol and alcohol is a huge no no.
