Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Welcome Aboard, Pony! :saludando:

Yep, we are one huge family on here........we do squawble from time to time, but when things get rough for "one of our own" we pull together!

When and if you are ever interested in the Rescue part of miniature horses and ponies, there is a nonprofit organization that was started on this forum. They have their own page on Lil Beginnings and often need Foster Homes.

MA

I'll definately keep that in mind. It will probably be late next year at the earliest, maybe as long as 2 years before I can do anything like that though. We had an absolutely disasterous house sale earlier this year that will end up costing us about 1/4 of our annual income in taxes for this year. That is, unfortunately, putting off my ability to upgrade my barn and fences, which is something i seriously need to do before I take in any new critters of any kind.

Anyway, I still have to read through the picture posting info, and then I will put up some pictures of Sparrow. I don't have any current ones (they are all of him at around 4 weeks and 6 weeks), my camera died and my husbands camera confuses me *blush* but I do have some funny video of the day I brought him home.

hi and welcome from damp IRELAND :bgrin :saludando:

Hello Warpony and welcome from Wisconsin!!

You will love this place!!

Look forward to seeing pictures!!

OK, I'm going to see if I understood how to post pictures here. Wish me luck! The pictures of Sparrow were taken at his breeders house before i brought him home:

This is Sparrow at 4 weeks old, using his mom as a jump.

Here he is after jumping over her again. hehe.

His fuzzy butt. I was trying to get a nice square shot of his hind legs but he wouldn't hold still.

I had a hard time getting any pictures at all that day, almost every picture I took looked like this:

he just wanted to be right in my face the whole time. :D

This is him with my daughter about two, maybe three weeks later.

His dad, if I remember correctly, is about 31 inches and his mom is just over 33 inches. So he isn't going to be the super tiny sort (which is a good thing, since i wasn't looking for super small).

I better put a picture of my pony, jamie here too, so he doesn't feel left out.

Ignore the date on the picture, my sister in law took the photo and forgot to set the date on the camera. This is Jamie in the dog pen mowing the grass for me.

I also have a short video of how Jamie and Sparrow reacted to each other when they were first turned out together. My silly boys meet each other for the first time.

Wow - that's a super introduction - can't wait to see pics of your fabulous critter collection! Tell us more about Sparrow and your Pony please (and the cats, dogs etc..)

Welcome to the forum btw -- My husband and I have 5 acres in North Central KY (just north of Lexington) and a bakers dozen minis - with a few on the way for next year (we hope). We are breeding for driving minis - especially for people who want an entry level "package" into the ADS CDE competitions -- a less expensive way to get started driving competitively and for pleasure.

My one driving mini gelding and I just competed in our first CDE over Labor Day weekend - pictures have not arrived yet from the show photographer - but will post a thread next week about that experience when the pictures arrive.

We plan to start 2 or 3 of our adult minis in harness over the winter to have one or more to compete with next year.

We also have 2 corgi spayed female dogs and 9 indoor cats.

You can see pics of our horses and our 2 nigerian dwarf goats - on our website (see my signature).

Again - welcome

J Jay

Hehe, I know.

It seems my two favorite breeds are both breeds that tend to magically multiply once you get the first one.

Maybe it is a GOOD thing I'm broke right now... heh.
